Based on true events about a fractured father/son relationship, THE HAIL MARY also holds the distinction of being the first ever movie with an all Black lead cast to be produced in the state of Montana! (Yes, there are a few Black folks in the West.)

Happy Belated birthday (last week) to the multi-talented Vanessa Williams.
Check out this lesser known title from her filmography - 2000's The Courage to Love, co-starring Diahann Carroll, Gil Bellows, Cynda Williams and Stacy Keach. It was an early directorial effort by acclaimed TV director Kari Skogland, who later got an Emmy nomination for Handmaid's Tale and directed multiple episodes of Marvel's The Falcon & The Winter Soldier.

HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY, SIDNEY POITIER!
This week would have been the 96th birthday of the first Black male actor to win an Oscar - and unarguably one of the most important Black actors ever. Celebrate both his birthday and Black History Month, with one of his less known titles, MANDELA AND DE KLERK, in which he portrays Nelson Mandela opposite Michael Caine as South African President F.W. de Klerk, as they negotiate an end to apartheid.
The movie was filmed in South Africa, in many of the same locations in which the real events took place. You owe it to yourself to check it out. WATCH, COMMENT, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE!
