Baltimore rapper YBS Skola proudly represents his city with club-friendly, motivational bangers. Born Dajuan Cannady, the son of prominent community leader Stokey Cannady, Skola is part of the local YBS ("Young Ballers Shining") crew, founded by the late Lor Scoota. Skola grew up on the west side of the city in Edmondson Village and only pursued rap after encouragement by family and the YBS crew. Reflecting the character of his city, Skola paints gritty street scenes punctuated with optimistic messages of hope and social advancement. With co-signs from the likes of Meek Mill, Lil Skies and Lil Durk, securing his reign over the DMV appears to have been just a stepping stone for the budding star.
