When i ask students what is their biggest problem while studying for CS, They say LACK OF FOCUS!

Your ability to develop a laser-sharp focus on studies is one of the MOST IMPORTANT things you can do to improve your productivity while studying for CS Exams.

Your ability to focus can make you progress more than anything else that you do

Here are 5 specific things you can do to build your focus and complete the studies you plan each day.

1. Study at the same place, same time every day, same subject:

Choose a subject like Company Law. Study is at 7 am everyday and sit in the same room or place to study that. This forms a habit.

2. Choose a Trigger:

Select a trigger that will calm your mind. For example do 5 deep breathings before you start studying.

3. Get started:

After step 1 and 2 above, Start studying for a few minutes. Starting is always hard. So start it, then that will give you momentum to keep studying!

4. Eliminate Distractions from your Phone:

As extreme as it sounds, just turn off your Mobile phone before you start studying. If you cant do that, at least keep it in a different room.

5. Study in POMODORO Sessions:

This has helped all my students the most. Just study for 25 minutes with a TIMER and then at the end of 25 minutes, take a 5 minutes break. In the 5 minutes break, do not SEE your PHONE!

BONUS TIP: Do not see your phone as soon as you get up in the morning. Instead, study for just 5 minutes as soon as you get up. JUST 5 minutes. You will be surprised how much this one small thing can help you!

Scoring 65 marks in CS subjects is not as hard as you think.

If you have studied well and prepared reasonably for the CS exam (I’m not expecting you to be a rank student), then you might encounter a question paper like this:

A 100-mark question paper in which
a. 40 marks are very easy
b. 40 marks are of medium difficulty
c. 20 marks are very hard questions

Let’s say you score 32 marks from the easy part (32 out of 40), 25 from the medium part, and 8 from the difficult part. That totals 65 marks.

Now, wait a minute—what if you don’t want 65 marks and only need 50 marks, which is the overall aggregate you require?

Then you would just need to score 25 out of the 40 easy marks, 20 out of the 40 medium-difficulty marks, and 5 out of the 20 hard marks. This is possible right! DOESNT LOOK SO HARD.

You may or may not agree with me regarding these specific numbers, but realize that both a rank student and a student who fails face three types of questions in every paper:

- HARD QUESTIONS
- MEDIUM-DIFFICULTY QUESTIONS
- EASY QUESTIONS

A rank student may find 60 marks very easy, while a failing student might find only 15 marks easy.

All of us deal with these segments in the question paper. Don’t expect all 100 marks to be easy. If you’re well-prepared, more questions will look easy and fewer will appear hard.

In simple terms, if you study properly—even starting today—you can score 65 marks in every subject. When you aim so high, you will at least get 50.
