A lot of people have asked me, what I would have said if I won. Funny enough, I manifested that moment over and over and over again in my head leading up to the fight. The answer was easy. My job was to take the “crown” I would be given off my head and place it onto Deji. Let him know that he’s the real winner for never giving up, raise his hand in the air and then give a version of the speech I gave.

Well, looking back. I was still able to do exactly that. Only it didn’t require me winning or having to receive a “crown” in order to show love, give respect and honor him.

It’s not about what we get that determines what we give in life. We always have the opportunity to give and enough to give, as long as we want to “give” regardless of what we “get.” No matter how big or small what you can offer is, the gesture of love is always enough. So give baby, give. 🐺

About last night... I planned for victory, but God planned differently. In my prayers every night I would say, “God, if you grant me this win, I will use it for good. It will allow the kids watching to be open to what I have to say and help me motivate and inspire them through my words and life story. I will not use the win to feed my ego and greed. And I will not forget about you when things get good. But if you don’t give me the win, I also understand. I will trust your plan and wait to see what the lesson behind the loss is. And I will not forget about you, when things get tough.” After the fight, I put my head down in prayer, thanked God, and said, “I trust you. I thank you. I will not forget about you.”

Would the win have been nice? Absolutely. Just like every other time something big was meant to happen in my life. A loss may not have been what I wanted, but may actually be what I needed. Who knows why. I sure as hell don’t. But I trust the process and trust that God will show me exactly why everything was meant to happen. There have been COUNTLESS times in my life where I felt my life was OVER, and sure enough I am reminded that it’s not even close.

With 3 months total experience it goes without saying, I’m not the best boxer. But to me, fighting is more than just knowing how to throw a punch. It’s about getting back up when you’re meant to stay down. Getting hit over and over but refusing to stop moving forward. You can hurt me physically all you want, but you can never take away my will and spirit to succeed.

I thank everyone who believed in me. I will not say sorry because I tried my best with what I could. I got back in the ring after a traumatizing first experience and gave it all I got. I am not defined by this loss. I am defined by how I carry myself after. And I hope to use this as an opportunity to inspire, motivate, learn and grow. I love you all. And if you take anything from this. Please. Don’t ever give up. Congratulations Deji. You earned this. 🐺

When I first told my mom that I’m going to be fighting again, she said if I did she would disown me. This came from the pain she felt the first time around and seeing me in agony as she nurtured me back to health. Yesterday as she came to say a prayer and send me off with blessings she said, “go bring home a W and I’ll throw the biggest party in your honor.” It’s time. 🐺🩸
