papa Wang was on duty last night and updated with four photos, captioning them to remind everyone to pay attention to the branches on the ground. This indicates that little Miracle was up to mischief again last night, taking a break while continuing to eat bamboo.
A new pair of giant pandas will set off for Hong Kong on September 26.
According to the Giant Panda Protection and Research Cooperation Agreement signed between the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda and Hong Kong Ocean Park, the pair of giant pandas, 'An An' and 'Ke Ke,' will depart for Hong Kong on September 26. They will settle at Ocean Park, becoming the third pair of giant pandas to be welcomed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The male giant panda 'An An' was born in June 2019. He has a round head, a long body, is agile, clever, energetic, and has a lively and outgoing personality. His mother is the giant panda Lin Bing(born on May 27, 2009, at Chiang Mai Zoo in Thailand.). His siblings include giant pandas Wen Hui, Hai Hai, Lao Lao, Dou Dou, and his twin brother, Wu Lin.
The female giant panda 'Ke Ke,' originally named 'Tian Ke,' was also born in June 2019. She is gentle, lively, active, and an excellent climber, displaying typical 'tomboy' characteristics among giant pandas.
Currently, both pandas are in good health and undergoing quarantine at the Dujiangyan Base of the Giant Panda Center.
To ensure that 'An An' and 'Ke Ke' successfully travel to Hong Kong and adapt to their new home, the Panda Center conducted a comprehensive health evaluation. Additionally, experts and caretakers from the center held in-depth discussions with four caretakers from Hong Kong Ocean Park who came to learn and participate in caring for the pandas. This allowed them to familiarize themselves with the pandas' personalities and habits and to build trust with them. When 'An An' and 'Ke Ke' depart for Hong Kong, a caretaker and a veterinarian from the Panda Center will accompany them and stay for a period to help the pandas quickly acclimate to their new environment.
At present, both the Panda Center and Hong Kong Ocean Park are actively preparing for the transportation, ensuring that the two giant pandas will safely and healthily arrive in Hong Kong.
This morning, the CCRCGP provided an update:“According to the feeding work arrangements, the giant pandas ‘Bao Li’ and ‘Qing Bao’ have been moved to a non-exhibit area for quarantine and observation. Both pandas are currently in good condition.”
“International cooperation with giant pandas is of significant importance. The information circulating online about the mistreatment of the giant pandas residing at the Washington Zoo is false. We have clarified this matter multiple times. We fully understand everyone’s concern for the two giant pandas and urge you not to believe in online rumors.”
Good news! The grass in panda Tai Shan's yard has been cleared, and the whole yard looks refreshed. Tai Shan can now move around in a clean and tidy environment.
