Yogoda Satsanga Society of India is the spiritual organization founded in 1917 by Paramahansa Yogananda to disseminate his teachings on the Kriya Yoga science of meditation and art of spiritual living. Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic "Autobiography of a Yogi," is widely revered as the father of Yoga in the West.
Outside India, his work is known as Self-Realization Fellowship.
YSS/SRF has more than 600 meditation centers, groups, temples, retreats, and ashrams all over the world, including over 200 in India.
One of the main aims and ideals of the society is to disseminate among the nations a knowledge of definite scientific techniques for attaining direct personal experience of God. The Society “serves mankind as one’s own larger self” through its many educational institutions, free dispensaries, eye and medical camps, scholarships to the needy, and aid to those affected by natural calamities.
