I dabble in a lot of things, but cooking is a passion. I work full time, but in my spare time, I can and dehydrate a lot, craft a lot, and work through experimental recipes. I am here to share with you how I do things in my home.
I am a firm believer in “My Kitchen, My Rules” and I know that sometimes the old ways are the best ways. I am a country girl who has transplanted herself into the city, and I work to hold on to some of the country ways my Granny taught me. I am not telling you to do it this way, or that this is the “right” way, but it is the way that works for me.

So many of you have reached out to check on me, and I appreciate that more than you know. I am sorry that I have not been around much. I have been having some health issues. I am no longer in remission and honestly, my weekly meds and treatments have left me drained and lacking the energy to do much of anything. They are also causing my MG spasms to flare up pretty badly (to the point of breaking fingers and toes). I only have a couple more months of treatments so hopefully I will be back later in the summer or early fall.

I am trying to get another video edited for this weekend, but no promises... I am having computer issues, and the 20 minute lard video took me almost 6 hours to edit and extract. I am getting a new PC (according to the order information it should be here by Thanksgiving) and will start getting videos back up again on a regular basis... I have about 15 recorded but am struggling to get them edited and uploaded.

I am just back from vacation...I decided to take a full month back home with the family. It was a great trip and I was able to see a lot of family that I had not seen in a long time.
my offer was accepted on the house and we closed last week... so I am now packing everything up again and getting ready to move (again). Moving day is July 9 (just 2 weeks away) so I will be away until shortly after that.
My friend Shelly has been getting the garden going, so there will be a LOT to can this summer. I will try to make sure I don't do repeats.
I did not get to do any videos before I left, and I only got to do one cooking video while I was back home, and a video to show you where I am from. I will try to find time to get those edited and posted soon.

Hooray!! The peach wine is FINALLY done! I had almost given up.
