I remaster music videos from the 70's, 80's and 90's to try and introduce this music to a new audience, and to converse with subscribers who were around when this music came out. Please check out my playlists and latest videos which are usually a superior quality compared to other channels.
I use Topaz (Artificial Intelligence) software to remaster my videos and I usually replace audio for quality lossless .flac versions. Please note š ššØ ššš ššØ š«ššŖš®šš¬šš¬. Coming soon (hopefully Wednesday morning) while I try and negotiate some copyright issues........I am sure most lovers of 70's music know what it is. It went to number 1 in Australia in 1978. If you genuinely don't know, take a guess...the official channel has it in 360p and we all know we can do better than that !

I recently remastered the Dark Side of The Moon only section from Pink Floyd's Pā¢Uā¢Lā¢Sā¢E concert and was disappointed when it was blocked worldwide under copywrite. I found it strange given I was granted permission to use my remaster of the entire concert, so I appealed my remastered DSOTM video and they knocked me back. Oh well, that's the way it goes.
Anyway, I just noticed in my control panel an earlier attempt at posting the full concert 2 years ago where I got hit with copyright claim after copyright claim and ended up having to cut out everything BEFORE the Dark Side of the Moon section. I figured it wasn't worth having up as the full concert was ruined, so turned it on to Private rather than delete it.
Go forward 2 years and I just noticed it.......the entire Dark Side of the Moon plus the encore songs ! So I have turned it back on, relabelled it and we will see how long it lasts. My apologies for no fade in on the audio or anything fancy.

It shows how silly these copyright laws are.

I don't have too many wins on Youtube, but 2 weeks ago I posted about my Pink Floyd - Pulse remastered concert.
It was originally blocked worldwide, I made an appeal to Sony Pictures and Pink Floyd not expecting to get anywhere and to my surprise they allowed me use of the concert. It has gone gang busters with nearly a million views. Recently another group (see my last post on here) put a copyright claim on it. I decided to try and fight that on the basis they are not the copyright holders therefore the claim has no basis. Not expecting to be lucky twice, amazingly, I won :
Hi Austech,
Good news! After reviewing your dispute, ARESA has decided to release their copyright claim on your YouTube video.
Video title: šš¢š§š¤ š š„šØš²š - šš®š„š¬š šššš - šš ššš¦šš¬ššš« š š®š„š„ ššØš§ššš«š
Thanks,
The YouTube team
Woo Hoo !
In other news, as much as I hated to do it I gave in to Youtube and provided a copy of my licence to have restrictions taken off my account. The whole thing is bull$hit as I shouldn't have the restrictions in the first place based on my channel's history and of course the fact I have a paid Google cloud account so they know quite well who I am. But the restrictions make it hard to get a lot of things done on Youtube, so it was either do it or give up posting.
Cheers

This is a copy of a post I made on the video's comments section, however Youtube will not allow me to pin any comments at all unless I send them a photo of my drivers licence which I refuse to do as they state that they would be keeping in on file for up to 2 years (I am pretty sure it was 2 years from memory). Would you do it ? Didn't think so. So I have had to post it on my channel as well.
This is just to advise in regards to ads on this video which many people have been enjoying ad free. I do not own the content of the video. The copyright holder is Sony Pictures and Pink Floyd themselves. I do not run ads on any of my videos, I cannot because I do not own the copyright on the remastered music videos and concerts I upload for the enjoyment of music fans.
When I uploaded this video 8 months ago, it was blocked worldwide by Sony and Pink Floyd and could not be viewed anywhere. I was disappointed given the huge amount of hours I had put in to it, so I manually submitted a copyright dispute which was sent to Sony and Pink Floyd asking that the restrictions be taken off. I explained the amount of work I had put in to the restoration project and that my channel is not monetised, I was not making a cent and that it was done simply for the benefit of music fans like myself. I was both surprised and very happy when I received notice that they agreed with my reasoning and they immediately removed all copyright restrictions from my video including running ads which was another fantastic surprise. The video was completely copyright free.
Recently, a copyright claim was made on one single song in the video, "Another brick in the wall pt 2", by a group of companies - BMG Rights Management (US), LLC, ARESA, LatinAutorPerf, Abramus Digital, LatinAutor, MINT_BMG. While this claim does not block any of the content, according to comments on the video (some quite rude) it would appear that they are running ads. Again, I do not own the content, which makes it very hard to argue copyright. It is always a David versus Goliath battle when the average Youtube user tries to do something against record companies.
Given the original approval I received from Sony Pictures and Pink Floyd, I have made application for the above copyright claim to be removed on the basis of that prior approval of use I had and that I do not believe those companies are the correct copyright holders and that they do not override Sony Pictures and Pink Floyd. I wont know the result of that application for up to 30 days.
Please remember, people like myself that spend hours and hours of their own time and their own money remastering videos for the benefit and enjoyment of other music fans cannot and do not control third party ads. In general we cannot do anything about them and it's only idiots like myself that spend their time standing up for you that thing sometimes can go in our favour. There is no point complaining about ads, because in general I cant do anything about it and if there is anything I can do, I have likely already done it.
Thanks for your consideration and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my subscribers. I hope to see you all back here in the New Year, and if you are not a subscriber, please hit the subscribe button. I have hundreds of remastered videos and some fantastic playlists you can enjoy over the holiday period. Check out the playlists in my last comment from 4 days ago.
Cheers,

Subscribers please read this post.......
As I have mentioned a few times lately, Youtube's restrictions on videos really are a pain in the backside for everyone and in this day and age I really wonder why copyright holders persist. But there is a way around their blocks, and that's using a VPN. Now while many of you use one, not everyone is a technology person and may not be aware what one is, what it does and how it can help you. So for those that might be interested, please read on.
Ok, what is a VPN ? VPN stands for Virtual Private Network but don't worry too much about if it means nothing to you. A VPN allows you to appear as if you are in a different country to the one you are really in. It re-routes your data through a server in a different country so that it appears as if you are in that country.
So lets use a real life example..........Youtube are blocking my last upload, a video I made of just the songs from Dark Side Of The Moon that appeared on Pink Floyd's Pulse concert. For some reason, the concert is blocked everywhere except France and Germany.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HCI3...
By using a VPN, you can select France or Germany and view the concert. The Youtube logo at the top of the screen that has a tiny "AU" under it will change to a different country logo depending on what country you select.
There are paid for VPN's and some Free VPN's. What's the difference ? If you just want to bypass Youtube as described, very little. I use ExpressVPN as I also value my privacy. While one of the more expensive VPN's, it keeps no records and their servers do not even have hard drives. They just run on a large amount of RAM, which means as soon as the server is turned off or rebooted, everything is deleted. The Turkish government found this out when they seized one of Express's servers and found literally absolutely nothing. Regardless, Express do not keep any of your details any way and have been independently audited to prove it.
So you want to try using a VPN but don't want to pay ? What options do you have ?
Opera Browser has one, but I have just read they have changed it in recent times so that it just has 3 "general" different locations. Which is not handy. They do have a paid option but there are likely better options. One other thing with VPN's, always check what currency the price is in.
Most of the bigger players have a free trial and that is what I would recommend before you sign up to anything long term. Nord VPN are probably one of the better options based on quality and price. A one year subscription is about 90 AUD a year as I look. As with all VPN's, the longer you subscribe for, the cheaper the price. But it is important to note, do NOT sign up to the first price you see as most (apart from Express) engage in regular specials and coupon/code deals.
One cheap option I know of is to use Kaspersky. I have used Kaspersky Antivirus on my PC for over 20 years, but they have other more premium offerings with more features. Now to buy their VPN service, it is not particularly cheap at 42.99USD. So why am I mentioning it ?
Their VPN is part of some of their security suites and is a standalone item for on Windows and android. So when you buy Kasperksy Premium, you can install the security suite and the vpn separately. There is an Australian company I have used for a number of years that offers some very very cheap prices on software. Youtube do not allow me to post links (unless I send them a video of myself for verification purposes....umm....no). But I am sure you can work out the link below :
saveonit.com.au/product/kaspersky-premium-5-device-1-year-digital-license-email
So for $22AUD a year, you get a VPN service and even better can use it on 5 devices as well. This really is as cheap as it gets in my opinion for a half decent VPN. I should point out that $16.50AUD is the cheapest deal, but that's for one single device only. Check descriptions to make sure they offer the unlimited VPN service.
Although I use Express, I have Kaspersky VPN installed on my computer and android devices as a backup and it has worked fine when I have used it. I have it turned on now and am connected to France while posting this.
If you are not a VPN user, think how many times you have copped the annoying "not available in your country" message on the screen of something you want to watch on Youtube. For $22AUD (or cheaper for a single device) a year, you can end that problem and watch anything that is geographically blocked. As they allow 5 devices, install it on your PC, phone and tablet....you will still have 2 spares available, you could share with a friend.
Anyway, thats enough typing for me. I just wanted to point out how easy they are to use and provide an example of how cheap you can get one. For those who are a bit scared with technology, I have also added a screen shot which shows just how easy the interface is Please feel free to comment if you know of something cheaper, though you also have to keep in mind connection quality and some free/very cheap services don't allow all locations or even only allow a certain amount of data per day or month.

I am still having a dud run with copyright. I did post a song this week which got blocked and failed an appeal and is now blocked worldwide, so scrub that one. But I also posted a video of Pink Floyd ......just the Dark Side Of The Moon songs from Pulse. I used my original Pulse concert as the source and remastered it a second time before editing it.
My Pulse video was originally blocked and I made an appeal and surprisingly they gave permission for all restrictions to be removed. That was in March. The video now has 532,000+ views.
So you would think there would be no problems with using just 45 minutes of that video. Nope, rejected. It is banned in most of the world, but if you want to see it, use a VPN connected to France or Germany which for some reason they are not blocking. Sorry about that. I cant explain how record companies work, there is no consistency. The video is here, if you have a VPN drop in and say hello (I think Opera browser has a VPN built in if you don't have a VPN, I would recommend you get one as Youtube is no fun without one)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HCI3...
The other blocked video I mentioned...I got an email from Youtube today.....your video is possibly offensive we are putting age verification on it for 18+. Now as it had been blocked I did not care. But guess what ? The official channel version, EXACTLY the same as mine, has been up for 13 years and 10 million views with no restrictions. So I appealed and stated I was more than happy to have the restriction as long as they applied the same to the official channels version.
They removed the age verification from mine rather than put it on the official channel. Funny that.
