Black Sea Dahu
Black Sea Dahu are Janine Cathrein and a gang of musical cohorts: on stage you'll see Vera, Ramon, Pascal & Alon. On records you'll hear in addition Paul, Simon and Nick.
Their debut album White Creatures, co-produced by Gavin Gardiner, received critical acclaim and brought about comparisons to Ben Howard, Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, Radiohead and Big Thief. On the heels of their debut release, the gang has been selling out venues and touring relentlessly, constantly selling out the venues they play. They’ve been invited to play at festivals such as the Reeperbahn (2018), The Great Escape (2019), m4music (2019) MaMA (2019) and Eurosonic (2020).
The band released an EP entitled No Fire in the Sand in September 2019.
They've reissued Kingdom North (Rerelease), a collection of songs recorded when they were still called JOSH.
Their new album I Am My Mother was released in February 2022.
Their latest release LIVE came out August 2024.
