Anushka Jaiswal, a 23-year-old woman from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, returned home from Delhi during the 2020 lockdown. As a hobby, she started growing tomatoes, chilies, and brinjals on her rooftop, and within days, the plants began to bear fruit. This sparked her idea to pursue a career in farming.

Anushka holds a degree in Economics from Hindu College, Delhi University. Although she never considered a career in farming initially, she didn't want to work in a corporate office. With her father, Omprakash Jaiswal, in the transport business, and her brother, Akshay, being a pilot, she didn't feel the pressure of taking up a job. Her family supported her decision.

In 2021, she leased one acre of land in Mohanlalganj from relatives and started farming. With a 50% subsidy from the government, she built a polyhouse and began cultivating cucumbers and red-yellow bell peppers, yielding 50 and 35 tons, respectively.

What began as farming on one acre has now expanded to 6 acres. She has also started growing red cabbage and Chinese cabbage. The vegetables grown on her farm are in high demand in the markets and malls of Lucknow. She has provided employment to about 25 women from her village.

Anushka grows all her produce organically without using any chemical fertilizers. She now earns around 2 lakh per month and ₹45 lakh annually at the age of 28.

The importance of good HEALTH: The Prophet said, "No blessing other than faith is better than well-being". He also said, "WEALTH is appropriate to a God-fearing person, but good health is better for the God-fearing than WEALTH".
