WHH India - Welthungerhilfe

Welthungerhilfe was founded in 1962 as the National Committee of the Freedom from Hunger Campaign set up by the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation. Non-profit making, non-denominational and politically independent, it is run by a board of honorary members under the patronage of the Federal Republic of Germany. The South Asia Regional office with its headquarters in India serves the countries of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Welthungerhilfe, in South Asia, supports initiatives that help disadvantaged groups to assume their rights as citizens in order to benefit from eonomic growth and the overall positive positive development framework. The guiding theme of our work, helping people help themselves also extends to emergency situations such as natural disasters or civil wars, where those affected are steadily supported to assume responsibility for their lives.
