Les Ménestriers were a French group of medieval music formed in 1969 by Yves Audard, Jean-Pierre Batt, Daniel Dossmann, Bernard Pierrot and Julien Skowron.

The group was formed in response to the growing interest in medieval music as part of the Folk wave in the late 1960s. The two artists Yves Audard and Julien Skowron met in an amateur ensemble, the Ménestrandie, and consolidated their friendship when the Ménestriers were founded in 1969.

After recitals at the Conciergerie and the awarding in 1970 (or 1971?) of a grand prize by the Académie du disque français for their debut album, Les Ménestriers confirmed their success in 1972, performing the performance of bringing back into fashion popular songs of the 15th and 16th centuries, deploying - to accompany their voices - a panoply of instruments such as cromornes, cornets, cervelas .
