I'm Calmer, and this is my newer (branded) YouTube Channel! I've been on YT since 2007 and used to make short IRL videos, but I decided to make another channel to match the name most of the Internet knows me by these days.
Speaking of which, if my name looks familiar, you've probably seen me on Twitch as Calmer_ ! I'm a Twitch/Discord Moderator for many places, as well as a Technical Producer for livestreams, and occasionally I do stream on my own channel.
I have over 30 years of history with video games, including little known facts, exploring mechanics in-depth, and of course a little bit of speedrunning. Point is, you can expect almost anything I do here or on Twitch to have something to do with video games!

Hey folks, just a short update: Still planning to release a couple short videos for the Chao enthusiasts, however my neighbors are making voice recording difficult whenever I seem to finally have time. Someone has a new baby, someone has a new dog that howls and barks nonstop at random times, and someone does a lot of yelling. - If I don't have voice lines cleanly recorded, I can't properly structure the video footage together, so yeah, "best laid plans" and whatnot. In the meantime, I hope everyone's playing some good games; been playing a little Sea of Thieves and a lot of Elden Ring myself!

Update, because I prefer being transparent: We're fully monetized (sort of)!
Apparently due to the sheer volume of ALL of you who viewed and subscribed over the last month, YouTube saw fit to flat-out Partner me, without holding me to the preliminary tier's criteria. This changes nothing for my plans. The previous Poll Winners are still going to be the next 2 videos I work on and release, especially since I already wrote the entire script for one of them. - Summer Games Done Quick 2024 begins on June 30th however, so a full week of my efforts will be focused helping out over there.
As for being fully monetized, the "(sort of)" comes in because I WILL NOT be utilizing Memberships; I just don't feel like I have enough to offer outside of basic video creation to justify enabling people to become Members. So:
• Super Thanks are now available below my videos
• Non-mid-roll ads are now active, because I despise mid-roll ads
• IF YOU EVER see mid-roll ads, let me know, so I can personally slap John YouTube in the face
• Memberships are not available, and I have no plans for them
Thank you all for making the last video explode with over 60x the amount of attention I ever thought it would get. I'm glad it reached the people it was created for, and then some.

Poll's snapshotted and closed; over 100 of you voted, and many people genuinely caught me off-guard with the sentiment of "not being opposed to covering material that's been covered in-depth for years already." I'm going to keep this in mind now that I know many people's feelings on it... But for now the Top 2 majority voted subjects to be covered are:
A glitch only a monster would use, and an overview of the SA2B Mods I've used and/or recommend on PC!
Thanks to all who voted, commented, or reached out elsewhere. These two projects will be much shorter (I hope), and should BOTH be released before mid-August, pending unforeseen catastrophe.

Well this was unexpected... When I uploaded that Chao video, I did it mainly so that the Chao Island community, my friends, and what few Subscribers I had could have an alternative method of digesting my research. I underestimated the video itself. Over 500 people have seen fit to Subscribe to this channel, which is apparently a threshold of sorts here on YouTube; one that a few Commenters have expressed support for.
I've looked into it, and it seems that if I were to upload 2 more videos within the next 2 months, the channel would essentially be halfway towards being able to earn ad revenue; sure Memberships and Supers become possible immediately, _*but I'm not going to encourage either of those things,*_ as I frankly don't feel like I offer enough quality content to justify those.
THAT BEING SAID, I'm open to knocking this milestone off my Dashboard page by putting out 2 more videos, IF there's demand. So let's try one of these Community Polls.
If I were to put out 2 more (hopefully short) videos within the next 2 months, what would you be interested to see?

I've literally spent the entire month of March researching, testing, documenting, and compiling information about mechanics that were seldom if at all known about a game from over 20 years ago... And then creating a video out of that project.
Probably won't be ready until April, but it's coming.
