I’ve been doing some pretty deep soul-searching lately.

It started off as some basic research on the impact that “social drinking” over the long-term (5-10 years) can have on overall health.

Some interesting studies on the topic have come out pretty recently and it gave me plenty of food for thought to take a break from drinking alcohol.

I’ve never really been a heavy drinker… but I’ve also never really been one to turn down a few drinks with friends or family members if that’s what people were doing.

But as I started doing more digging into the research, I started paying closer attention to how alcohol was subtly chipping away at my focus and productivity.

Not to mention, alcoholism runs in my family, so even light to moderate drinking puts me at higher risk for developing some kind of dependence on it.

So after some careful consideration, I’ve decided to take a break from it this coming year.

At least 3 months of no alcohol in 2024.

Ever since I turned 21, which was 8 years ago for me now, I’ve never really taken an extended break from drinking.

And I want these months of sobriety to be full of goal-crushing and intense productivity.

Accomplishing great things in life requires laser-sharp focus and unwavering commitment, and I want to accomplish great things in my fitness, health, and coaching business.

I want to set the bar higher for myself and hold myself to a next-level standard.

By no means is my intention to belittle people who do drink. I’ve made tons of progress with my health, fitness, and nutrition while enjoying alcohol within reason throughout the years.

But I’ve come to a place in my life where I’ve decided that staying sober for an extended period of time is something I want to experience and I think it’s going to be good for me.

I’m beyond excited to see how this change elevates my energy, helps me crush my goals this coming year, and enhances my overall well-being.

So with that being said…
