First time mom confession⤵️

It took me a while to accept that being a good mom doesn’t mean that I need to have a good day every single day.

A good mom is allowed to have a mix of…

Hard days. Bad days. Normal days. Joyful days. Long days. Tired days. Super mom days. Overwhelming days. Lazy days. Great days. Energetic days. Sad days.

Each kind of day is okay to have & bound to happen too because this ish is hard…😅

This mindset shift helped me realize that a ‘good mom’ is one who tries her best every day using the energy, resources, & support she has even when those things may vary from one day to the next.

Here’s to taking it one day at a time, mama🩷

Our sweet son was born happy, healthy, & 3 weeks early last week on April 16, 2024!

🩵6lbs 12oz, 18.5 inches, 3:00pm

Hey, lil dude #21weeks🩵

I have been so much more anxious about baby’s well-being this time around compared to the first time.

I don’t know why.

Maybe it’s having dealt with loss earlier this year? Maybe it’s hearing about miscarriages from friends & family?

About 10-20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage & my heart goes out to every single one of those moms. You are so strong & not alone🩷

I had some moderate cramping over Thanksgiving weekend & went to get things checked out at the hospital - because my doc’s office was closed - just to make sure everything was okay.

Thankfully, everything was just fine & getting checked on was a huge reassurance for me.

The nurse sure made me feel silly though, but a mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do for her babies, right?

A healthy pregnancy & healthy baby is such a blessing. It’s not one I take lightly or for granted.

Wishing all the moms health, resilience, & peace of mind on their motherhood journeys x

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but there is no right way to do motherhood.

Every family’s dynamic is different.

Every child’s personality & temperament is different.

Every family’s support system is different.

The way you do motherhood may look completely different from the way your sister, neighbor, or best friend does motherhood.

And that’s okay🩷

Motherhood is a unique journey.

Is it an easy job? No.

Is it a rewarding job? Yes.

Do moms sometimes need help with school drop-off, grocery pick-up, cleaning/cooking, & child care to make it through the week? Heck yes.

The best part about motherhood is that you get to create the rules & write a story that is unique to your family.

And just in case no one has told you lately, mama, you are doing an amazing job figuring out how to best care for your family with the resources you have available.

You are the perfect mom for your babies x
