I'm excited to share a new short fiction story I just published on Amazon called "Blue Sky Thunder" that is inspired by my love of mother nature's most awe-inspiring forms - the churning, powerful and unpredictable tornado. I hope you'll consider supporting me and checking out this thrilling story about a typical summer day turned on its head.

Purchase the story on Amazon here: www.amazon.com/dp/B09WJLPV7T

Here's short snippet from the story:

“Do you feel that?” Dave asked, his eyes glanced above and around him.
Renita stopped to take notice. It was hard to tell at first, but it was there. A constant, low vibration emanating through the ground and walls.
“I feel it,” she said in a whisper.
A sound like the soft flutter of paper caught her attention, and she noticed the saloon doors to the kitchen were swaying ever so slightly, like an abandoned swing set just before it came to rest. She got up from the booth to follow the sound. Before she even entered the kitchen a slight draft tickled a loose strand of her hair.
In the kitchen, the remnants of a small glass window were scattered about the floor. A few smaller, half-melted hailstones rested atop the stainless counter in puddles of water amongst more bits of glass.
The wind whistled through the shattered window. A stack of receipts and completed orders impaled on an aluminum spike on the counter fluttered in the breeze. Renita looked out through the open pane and froze.
At first she thought she was staring at a curtain of heavy rain or the leading edge of a dust storm, but she quickly realized she was looking right at an approaching tornado. It was a monster at that. The ominous, black wedge chewed up stalks of corn as it rolled over the far edge of the field. The few trees lining the farm’s property whipped to and fro until they succumbed to the sheer force of the wind. She watched as a large oak tree three stories in height lurched into the storm. It was lofted higher and higher into the sky before it disappeared behind the immense wall of dirt, wind and debris. From her viewpoint the tree was the size of a toothpick, dwarfed by the swirling giant.
It looked nothing like the tornado she’d seen in The Wizard of Oz, all lanky and spindly and in sepia tone. She’d seen pictures of wedge tornadoes before on the weather channel. The newscaster said they were the meanest and biggest type there is. Only on a small television screen they didn’t seem so big and bad to her. And all the pictures of the damage and devastation she’d seen on T.V. was like looking at small scale models of real neighborhoods. But this, less than a mile away from her, was real. And it was bigger and meaner than she could have ever imagined.
The whole funnel must have been three quarters of a mile wide, running the width of the cornfield and then some. Outside of the main funnel, smaller brief tornadoes spun up and danced around the outskirts like menacing black fingers that reached downward from the heavens.
She tried to analyze which way it was moving. Is it going toward Springfield High? Brookview Estates? The old mill? A million faces and places raced through her mind in an instant. The immense size of the tornado frustrated her. She couldn’t figure out which way it was going. And it only seemed to be getting bigger and bigger with each passing second.
Her heart sank to her knees when the realization set in. It’s coming this way.
