I'm currently editing a video covering a huge exhibition in Italy called ‘Panorama Monferrato’. It's located in the region of Monferrato in Northern Italy curated by Carlo Falciani, ITALICS. Here are some behind the scenes photos of my trip to Monferrato. I've also already posted three shorts, this is one of them: youtube.com/shorts/W6RdaSMVIJ...
ITALICS promotes the culture and beauty of Italy through a national network of gallerists working together and sharing experiences, on and offline, with an international audience of collectors and art lovers. It's a consortium of more than seventy of Italy’s most influential galleries of contemporary, modern and ancient art.
The concept as a whole is the brainchild of Lorenzo Fiaschi (Galleria Continua), president of ITALICS and Pepi Marchetti Franchi (Gagosian), vice president of ITALICS, who came up with the idea in the spring of 2020 together with founding members Alfonso Artiaco, Ludovica Barbieri (Massimo De Carlo), Massimo Di Carlo (Galleria dello Scudo), Francesca Kaufmann (kaufmann repetto), Massimo Minini, Franco Noero and Carlo Orsi.

As I mentioned in a previous post, many artworks in public spaces don't get much attention. In our recent film “Basel Biennale 2024”, I'm covering some of them, all of them located in Basel. One of them is particularly interesting because of its location. I wanted to know more about the artwork and the artist and I was able to conduct a very nice interview with the creator of the work, the Basel artist Ludwig Stocker. We are publishing the video soon, an extended version is already available for Members. I hope you like it. An important note: The interview has been recorded in Swiss German, but subtitles in High German and English are available via the YouTube settings.

I like walking through cities and I've noticed many works of art in public spaces (even those that aren't works of art at all) that usually don't get much attention. Despite the constant exhortations to sustainability, a lot continues to be produced in the art world. This gave rise to the idea of creating a biennial that only shows existing works. I called it a biennial, somewhat pompously, because modesty is not a particularly successful trait in the art scene either. So if you are in Basel for Art Basel Week and the weather is nice and you would like to take a different kind of tour of the city: Here is the (still provisional) map with the locations of the works:

The Venice Biennale videos are almost all online now, just in time for the next big event: Art Basel in Basel. This promises to be quite interesting, with a newly conceived Parcours sector, a parallel fair on a field and a rather unusual biennial. Videos coming soon here.
