I've loved Joe Satriani's music since I first discovered his artistry over ten years ago. The first song I heard of his literally blew my mind. It's fitting then that the first song I ever heard of Satch's was "Mind Storm."
I have a deep love for instrumental rock. At the time of having discovered Joe Satriani's music, I did not know that instrumental rock was a legitimate music genre. Until that point, I thought this sort of music was reserved for niche applications, such as music tracks for crash tapes (a collection of crashes and smashes from various motorsports disciplines almost always set to a blazing instrumental rock soundtrack), or themes and interludes for televised motorsport events.
I have always claimed that the day I discovered Satch's music, it changed my life forever. Having finally found an artist whose music impacted me on the level that Satriani's did has left a lasting impact on my life. He is the greatest guitarist I've ever heard or seen play. He is, "The Man".
