Hey gang, Matt here. I hope everyone's doing ok. Everything's pretty crazy right now and I hope you're all doing the right thing by staying at home where possible, and staying healthy.
However, I've got bad news - as all of you probably figured I would in light of the current global situation. It is with a heavy heart that DPU has to reschedule our UK shows and will work to reschedule shows on our Spring US headline tour (April 9 - May 16) due to bans on mass gatherings, travel bans, and festival cancellations. We're so sorry to let you guys down like this, but as you all understand - tackling this virus and saving lives as well as peoples' future livelihoods should be everyones main priority right now. For everyone in the UK, this means the April 1st Leeds show will now be rescheduled to August 11th, and the April 3rd London 02 Kentish Town Forum show will be rescheduled to August 14th. I hope so bad all you guys can be there still, but if you are unable to make the new dates then please contact your ticket seller directly. For everyone in the US, stay tuned for rescheduled headline dates.
I'm sorry we've been kinda quiet in this last week or so - I really hope we haven't left too many of you hanging, as we've been getting a lot of questions about the shows still happening - to be honest we've just had so much to figure out in terms of trying to keep these shows on, and if we weren't doing these shows - what would that mean for us. Losing a whole season of touring for a band like us is a really big deal, as it massively affects the income that we rely on as a band and individuals. So it's a really big hit for us, and it took a lot of figuring out to get to this point, but obviously with the current situation the decision has kind of been made for us. We don't want to put any of you guys (or your families) in danger by playing shows, and we don't want to prolong the damage that this virus is doing globally. Also with international flight cancellations, travel bans and border closures there's not a lot we can do about it anyway.
We're figuring out a bunch of stuff that we can do whist we're off the road to keep you guys pumped (like a DPU chat room??), as well as hopefully create some sort of income for ourselves to help this rough patch be less rough - so I've been working suuuuuuper hard with our merch team to crank out a bunch of super sick new exclusive threads etc that we'll be dropping soon. I'm also gonna try get over my shit about doing live video's and selfie video's etc and try say hey more often ha.
Anyway, I'm super sorry we're not gonna be able to play these shows for you guys, we were crazy excited for all of them. But we all gotta do the right thing right now, and that's chill, be sensible, wash those damn hands, and be kind to each other.
