The Varkey Foundation launched the Global Teacher Prize to shine a spotlight on the important role teachers play in society. After all, It is teachers that shape our future through the children they teach.

But this future remains uncertain. The Year 2020 marks the beginning of a “decade of delivery” in education – with ten years left to meet the sustainable development goal of promising every child a good education by 2030.
