Shurk (originally Shirk) is the brainchild of 22 year old London-based producer Benjamin Dunkerley. Since its inception in June 2013 the project was steeped in mythical lore. The Shurk character wears a plague-doctor hybrid mask, and features on the cover of every release.

In June 2014 YouTube celebrity Markiplier discovered Haunted, the opening track of Shurk’s ‘Launch’ EP, while playing a demo version of the video game Critical Annihilation (then Critical Mass). Markiplier immediately began using the song as his regular outro, and Shurk has received millions of streams as a result. He went on to release several successful projects, including Absolution and A Darker World with European dance label, Tasty.

In May 2019, while finishing his Creative Music Technology studies at the University Of Surrey, Shurk released ‘Per Form’, signalling a new experimental and more mature direction for the project. In collaboration with Actual Size Dance Company, the project debuted as a contemporary
