Pioneering Canadian broadcaster Red Robinson launched his radio career in 1953 while still attending high school. During a career that spanned 63 years, Red Robinson acted as master of ceremonies for Elvis Presley’s Vancouver concert (in 1957) and for The Beatles (in 1964). Red was honoured by the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame as part of a group of pioneer deejays in 1995. Red retired from radio in August 2017, and he remained a prominent public figure in retirement, maintaining an active social media presence at redrobinson.com and on his Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. Red Robinson died April 1, 2023 in Vancouver, two days after his 86th birthday. A public event celebrating Red’s amazing life will take place in Vancouver in late August.
