Task & Purpose was founded in 2014 with a mission to inform, engage, entertain, and stand up for active-duty military members, veterans, and their families. The site quickly became one of the most trusted news and investigative journalism sources for the military, with its journalists reporting everywhere from the Pentagon to The White House and beyond.

Task & Purpose

Why did I stop posting videos for the past 2 weeks? I needed to mentally take a step away from the channel. I needed to not think about the military or guns or drones or anything for a bit so I could recalibrate. I needed to process what I went through in Ukraine, which still feels surreal to me especially because it was so intense and so short of a time and I've very few people whom I can talk to about it. (I've spared my wife from having to listen to me go on about it)

So, I needed to focus on some of the people who need me most. I've been spending time with family and loved ones and the new puppy Tucker. I also played a bunch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Stalker 2 which I am loving. I laughed when I saw the "Non-Stop" energy drink in it. thats is a common fixture for soldiers in Ukraine. It's like their "RIP-IT" kinda how their version of "hooah" is "slava Ukraine". sorta. Only 5 people will get these references but that's okay.

I started lightly working out again because my back was killing me and I realized I had sacrificed my health in the past few months. Also taking more care about what I stuff into my face because for a while there I was living on eastern european gas stastion pastrys and borscht soup which ain't bad but I balooned haha.

The pressure of posting videos twice a week sometimes 3 times a week for the past full year was burning me out. Always worrying about how the post is doing, over thinking what I could have done better.

But I'm back now and I feel re energized. I can promise you that 2025 will be a year of major changes. I hope you stick with me through what is in store. We are going to cover stories ranging from the geopolitical to the lowest grunts infantry tactics. Thank you for joining me on this journey that we have been on together for the past 6 years. I really appreciated your support last year in 2024.

I've read through many of the comments you guys life on the Ukraine videos and, no homo, well, plenty of homo, your comments make me emotional. The words of support you have sent me are seen and appreciated. Do parasocial relationships go the other way ? Because I feel like you guys are my friends even though we're not in real life. Legitimately Thank you for everything spare parts army.

Now, onto what you actually care about, the new reports!

The Americans who are fighting for Ukraine. I spoke with Mayhem to find out why he left the United States to fight in the trenches against Russia. This is the final part of the 3 part series and it will go live in late January or early February. It was facinating to learn what kind of gear they take with them into the field, the reasons why they fight, and the challenges they face.

Foreign fighters who are captured by Russia face horrible conditions. I spoke with a soldier callsign Cossack who is from the UK who was captured and put into a POW camp for months on end. He was one of the lucky ones who ended up being released , others were not so lucky. I just recently saw a video of an Australian man who was captured near Kramatorsk.

They are painted as mercenaries by Russia, similar to how Ukraine says there are Chinese and Indian mercenaries fighting for Russia. The reason this is a big debate is because if they are mercenaries I've heard then they arent given the rights of POWs. Curious to know what you guys think of all that.

In a Ukranian house's basement a mile and a half from the zero line with a drone bomber team. Just getting to the position was pucker factor 1000, it was a five minute drive inside Russian artillery and FPV drone range as they hunted us. Once we got to the spot, I spent the night with them observing how they dropped munitions on Russian positions.

I can't wait to share all the information I learned with you on the mission.

In the meantime new episode on Russia's GRU unit-29155: https://youtu.be/Gt6_9m5qXdU?si=WThTv...
everyone upset about this episode acting like I don't also always talk about the CIA covert missions. People get so butt hurt about when I talk about Russia and ask "when you gonna talk about the CIA?"

I did twice in the last few months. I've done entire episodes on them. gets under my skin.

I traveled to the frontlines in Kursk Russia in the occupied territory by Ukraine. I can tell you , The intensity of the artillery shelling here is insane. Every minute multiple shells being fired. FPV Drones buzzing overhead , it’s terrifying you only can hear them when they’re within about 40 meters distance , too late to react.

Ukraine appears to be throwing everything they have in this direction to stabilize the front. when you look on a map you might think that it's a straight shot easy ride into Kursk but on the ground that road is chewed to s****t by tank tracks and bombs. It takes forever to drive across because of the pot holes. I saw hundreds of logistics vehicles pouring into Kursk from Sumy. It's so far from resupply of a city center that their supply lines are stretched but they are making it work with a tremendous volume of convoys of vehicles for as far as the eye can see running 24/7.

I saw Many Houses destroyed by Russian FAB bombs on their own towns. I interviewed Russian Civilians who were brainwashed by the kremlin who believed Ukrainian towns were not attacked. They thought that Russia was invited into Ukraine. Reminds me of propaganda the US believed about WMDs in the Iraq war. To be fair though, this part of Russia is very uneducated and these are mostly very elderly people.

Because I did this, I will now be put on a list by Moscow for “illegally entering Russia without an authorized passport” I'll be unable to travel to Venezula and some other countries without being arrested. This won’t stop me from reporting what is happening here because I believe its only fair if reports can be made from inside territory Russia occupies.

I interviewed the Ukranian soldiers fighting on the zero line in Bradleys. I asked them about their tactics and lives. I visited their safe houses and learned about the logistics of the battle here.

I spent time with the international legion and I went on a frontline mission with a drone team where we were surrounded by Russian positions 1.5 miles away from us on 3 directions. Our position was hit with artillery all night and an aviation bomb flew over head at one point.

I am looking forward to sharing with you all that I learned from trip here over the past two weeks. I couldn't share details about it until now that I'm off the frontlines and safe.

I've known for a long time that I needed to come here in order to actually understand the war. I needed to learn the absolute lowest level routine of how this massive war is fought. How the suasage is made so to speak. I can confidently say I understand now how the battles are fought on a day to day basis throughout many parts of the front line, because each section is so different from Kursk to zaporizhzhia.

Coming in hot on Unsubscribe podcast on this Saturday for the veterans day episode. If you want to see me get completely annihilated on rip-its and white claws for several hours with the boys be sure to check it out. It's like the show 'hot ones' but with endless alcohol instead of spicy chicken wings.

Also excited to announce I've been invited to join the boys on Pepperbox TV so I'll be creating an exclusive weekly episode there each week, it's going to be rundowns on combat footage that I wouldn't be able to post here. It won't be graphic for the sake of it , we'll be looking at what tactical insights we can learn from the material.

Also check out my newest video if you have a minute on the Cartel War exploding on the border: https://youtu.be/RsoZLL6euUk

new member to the spare parts family ! meet Tucker the Pug. His favorite tank is the T-72 so we're still training him and teaching him about the advantages of some western armor to see if I can get him interested in the Stryker insteaad.

For real he's the sweetest dude and my wife really wanted a pug and has been asking for the last like 4 years so I'm glad she's happy : ) He's a wild ball of energy and it's made me excited to get up in the morning to play with him and show him new stuff.

Stay tuned for some news on more additions to the spare parts family in the coming months fingers crossed.

If this was too non military related for you , new video live now : https://youtu.be/h6DHfiHV03o
