Mathematical Visual Proofs

I animate and provide some explanation for classic and newer "proofs without words," which are typically diagrams without any words that indicate how a theorem could be proved.

I often pay homage to Proofs Without Words by including some animations without narration (only dramatic music :) ). I have also noticed that while there are many wonderful visual proofs available on YouTube, most of the creators do not credit the original visual proofs. I will do my best to include links and citations for each visual proof so that you can track down the original static images, which have a beauty and a wonder all their own.

I create my animations using the amazing software Manimgl from 3Blue1Brown.

Thanks so much for another year. In case you missed it, here is my last wide-format video featuring one of my favorite facts that just so happens to be relevant for the number 2025. I have one more fun short coming before the New Year, but I hope to keep up with this hobby next year. Thanks for watching, commenting, and sharing - might hit 200K subs soon. Happy New Year!

Mathematical Visual Proofs

Hi Visualizers! If you know someone who likes trigonometry, I turned a classic diagram into a poster:

mathvisualproofs.myspreadshop.com/trigonometrydiag…

The shop is print-on-demand and they take most of the revenue (hopefully it prints in good quality), but any purchases help me continue with the channel. Thanks for watching!

Hi Visualizers! It's that time of year where sometimes you just need to zone out for a few minutes to recharge your brain. I have a new "synthwave and math" video today to help you do just that. Watch as we draw nested epicycloids corresponding to the powers of 2 from 2 to 256: https://youtu.be/BwzZCU1DQak?si=TVFxV...

As always, thanks for watching!

Hey there, math lovers! I'm always looking for ways to make learning fun, and this time I decided to inject some humor into the world of math with another "trick shot" inspired video. Math can be a bit dry sometimes, so why not add some personality? Check out this compilation of visual proofs, and tell me which sum of cubes proof is your favorite! (Comment with your sub choice)

Did you see the big news last week (confirmed today)?!? A new Mersenne prime just dropped, 2^(136279841)-1, and so that means a video I made last year is now out-of-date (since it references the last largest known Mersenne prime). But it still might be worth a watch if you are interested in Mersenne numbers, perfect numbers, and the connection between them. To learn more, see www.mersenne.org/

Hey fans of mathematical visualizations,

Check out this awesome video I just watched about higher dimensional polytopes:

Is Pi times the golden ratio greater than or less than 5? The icosagon has an analytic solution:

Mathematical Visual Proofs

Been busy with work and have had a tough time keeping up with animating but had time to put together a new compilation of geometric series dissections (based on a series of shorts I have done over the past year showing that 0.bbbb... = 1 in base b+1): https://youtu.be/gN4EFwF5Hro.

This compilation is different than a previous one (there is minor overlap) : https://youtu.be/JteQEN1XPyc

Which compilation do you like better?

Have had many of you ask for a visualization that 1 + 2 + 3 + ... = -1/12. Most recent video is my best attempt. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks as always for watching!
