One of the most interesting films I have watched in recent times is the South Korean film written by Lee Sook-yeon. While the film explores the story of two lovers who consistently cross paths with one another only to be pulled apart by ill timing, what caught my attention in the movie was a beautiful analogy. A radio show that’s part of the narration compares the seasons of life to that of nature! It explains how sunny days are great to have but how rainy days are equally important! Because if it weren’t for the rainy days it wouldn’t be long before a piece of land would become a desert! To me, 2024 has been precisely that! There were days when it was sunny and there were days when it was rainy but in its entirety, 2024 was one of the most transformative years of my life! I have had my fair share of difficult moments to deal with in 2024 with my father being diagnosed with cancer, my life suddenly split between two cities, to having to juggle too many things all by myself and experiencing what can only be called my career’s biggest burnout! I have had to deal with a fair amount of stress in 2024. So much that it wasn’t until I cried over a doughnut that I realised how much I had been holding on to while calmly navigating life! But regardless of what happened, I have come to a point in my life where I see things positively. So, I only see 2024 as a good year. Because while there were moments of difficulty there were also good moments that came out of those difficulties. Whether that's finding a sense of community and family in my friendships or going into complete isolation to recharge after nearly 12 years of constant work. There have been moments to be grateful for! Because if it wasn’t for these challenging times, I wouldn’t have come to become my most authentic self! The kind of woman I always envisioned to become. So, by the end of this year, I can proudly say if not of anyone else I have come to become the woman of my dreams and that’s worthy of celebration in itself!

Happy 2025. May the year ahead be filled with love that feels like home, a healthy body housing a happy mind & soul, gentle lessons that help us grow, meaningful connections that are genuine & pure, abundance to appreciate all areas of life and opportunities to create good art that helps be in close communication with God. To a fulfilling 2025. Wishing you all a very happy and healthy new year! ❤️

When you go through the comments on many videos on social media, it is often enough to understand that only a very small section of men actually respect women. A large part of men still blame women for the crimes that are perpetuated on them by saying she deserves it, asked for it and whatnot! But the problem is this, we haven't created a system that punishes the thinking. We have created a system that waits for such thoughts to manifest into actions to actually punish them. Dismissing the fact that anyone who comments like that is a potential criminal himself. We dismiss the fact that movies like Kabir Singh and Animal have any social implications under the facade of freedom of expression! If a 15-second video on social media can influence a person into making an online purchase then a movie, two hours or longer with celebrated actors is enough to shape the minds of a generation that is up and coming! Those are the social implications we dismiss by not punishing a toxic thought. As a country of culture, we talk about Mahabharat and Ramayan as the greatest epic written by the mankind. We celebrate and worship men like Ram and Krishna who fought for the respect of women, forgetting the morals these stories are trying to imbibe in us. Two wars were fought because two women in history were not respected. When will we learn? In a country that worships women as Goddesses, we do not have to ask for respect! #Justiceforkolkatadoctor
