Alright so this issue isn’t just a thing with my channel, this is a sitewide thing. YouTube’s license with SESAC (who owns the rights to hundreds of artists music) has expired and by the looks of things now, it seems like they aren’t planning on renewing it. Even official releases by the artists are blocked in the U.S.

Here’s my favorite pointless music fact: “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt had enough play on the radio alone to be one of, if not the longest running number one songs of all time, but because of weird rules at the time which made it so a song couldn’t chart unless it had a physical single release in the United States, it never even charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at any point.
