Hi my garden friends!! I know I have been MIA for a few weeks amid some scary things and you all have been reaching out to ask if I’m okay! I appreciate you all. As far as Hurricane Helene, I am totally fine and we were so extremely lucky here in Charlotte to just get some heavy rains and winds but nothing too damaging. Western NC was hit hard, and I think every North Carolinian is just absolutely devastated seeing the heart of our state in such destruction. Check out my latest IG post for some resources on how to help ❤️ I am sending out so much love to anyone affected.
As far as my health, I had thyroid cancer surgery this morning to remove my left lobe- and all is well! Waiting to get pathology back to see if I need to do any further steps but as far as the surgery goes, it’s been much smoother sailing than I imagined! I’m resting and recovering. But a new video that I filmed prior should be up in a few days.
Thank you all for the concern and well wishes. I’ll be back to chatting your ears off about gardening before you know it! Some of you have asked how you can support me during this time, and honestly just watching my videos! 🫶🏼
I’m honestly still in disbelief. I remember watching the creators I admired hit milestones like this on YouTube, feeling so happy and proud for them. Never in a million years did I think I’d be in their shoes one day.
If I could go back in time, I’d tell little Megs that everything would turn out okay. That one day, she’d be doing something she truly loves—something she’s passionate about. To just trust the process. That she’d be inspiring, creating, and teaching millions of people about her hobby. That those fun, silly videos she used to make alone or with friends in her room would one day help her create a path she could’ve never imagined. And that one day, millions of people would be there to support her and change her life for the better.
Because you all HAVE changed my life, and I’m so incredibly grateful. Words can’t express the gratitude I feel for each of you. Especially now, as I face some health challenges, your support has meant the world to me. Having this job that I love, a community that lifts me up—it’s been a true gift, and I don’t know how I’d get through this without you.
So, this isn’t just about hitting a number or a milestone. Because you aren’t just numbers to me. This is about celebrating the community we’ve built together. I’ll never be able to repay the love you’ve shown me, but please know how deeply thankful I am. Thank you, each and every one of you, for everything you’ve done and continue to do for me. I love you all so much! 💚💚💚💚
Garden tour is being posted later today, but on an even more exciting note- @gardengirlspod has dropped its first 3 episodes! We are so excited about this podcast, I hope you guys are too. Go give us a follow on Spotify (listen to full eps), YouTube (watch full eps), IG & TikTok (short fun snippets)!
In the first three episodes, we do a little introduction, talk about our failures in the garden, and favorite seed companies and varieties that are standing out to us this year. Feel free to drop a comment here and let me know what you’d love to listen to next!
Filming a garden tour for you all today! Also, I was thinking- there are alot of new faces here! Welcome to my channel, I’m so happy to have you here. Would a Q&A video be of interest to anyone?
If so, drop your questions down in the comments. Can be about anything! (:
Those of you that subscribed to my previous newsletter, you've probably been informed with the drama of that has ensued with the platform that was running it! Lets just say, it was a total sh**show. So, just here to let you know that the newsletter has now switched over to SubStack. There, I will be sharing newsletter updates, as well as recipes, garden tips, and more in a written format- if thats your style! SubStack is a much more user friendly and community experience, and I'm really loving it there so far! I hope you will too :) See you there!
