Something I’ve been wanting to get back to the last few months is my old habit of starting the day off by reading a short story or a couple chapters of a manga/comic. ☺️
I’m joining @Talking_Story and a few friends in reading One Piece this year, so this is the perfect opportunity to get back in that habit in the very best of ways - by joining the Straw Hats in their quest to chase their dreams!

Hey friends! Just wanted to post a quick note that there won’t be a Weekly Reads update today due to sickness. I came down with something Tuesday evening and only just today feel like I’m bouncing back.
I didn’t want anyone thinking we got smacked by Hurricane Helene - she zipped right past us and we only felt a small amount of wind and a brief bit of rain.
I am planning to get back in the swing on Monday and film my October TBR plans to post on Tuesday and I want to get more filmed in my Halloween book recommendations series.
Hope you all are well!!
Love you bunches,
Lezlie

I was thinking of combining two of my favorite things this time of year: Halloween Horror Nights & book recommendations.
I was thinking of doing a video series where I tell the story of each of the 10 Haunted Houses at Halloween Horror Nights and recommend a few books based on the story/House.
What do you all think? Is that something you'd enjoy?

Soooooo, I DID film an update for tomorrow, but I've been working on it most of the day and honestly, I'm incredibly unhappy with the footage and I'm just scrapping it. I was out of sorts from not filming for a couple weeks and then trying to film right after vacation...it's a mess and I just ramble and waste a lot of time saying nothing.
...okay, so I always ramble - but it was worse than usual. LOL!
I'm going to swap gears and work on getting my October Monthly Wrap Up edited and uploaded for Tuesday and hopefully I can get back on track next week.
The important part of what tomorrow's video would have expressed is that Philip Fracassi is a new favorite author. Not only was BOYS IN THE VALLEY a 5 star read, so was the next one I picked up by him, A CHILD ALONE WITH STRANGERS. The top tier reads didn't stop with just he one author though, I read JCM Berne's PARTIAL FUNCTION (it came out Tuesday) and it was ALSO a 5 star read!
I had a really great last couple weeks of reading, I'm just sorry I couldn't seem to get those thoughts captured on video.
Have a great weekend my friends!

Just a quick little explanation of the change in video schedule for those that notice and are wondering what in the world happened:
Starting this week, I'll be dropping down to 2 full length videos. After this week, the upload schedule will be Tuesdays and Fridays. (Shorts will continue to be sporadic and willy nilly)
I've already chatted with my Patrons about making this change effective in July, but due to some recent news, Chris and I will be headed home to Mississippi for a few weeks to be with family and I have no idea if I will have the ability to record videos and get them uploaded. I'm working my tail off to get content covered on here through mid-July, just in case.
I will absolutely be reading and writing reviews, just like always!

Sorry, friends, no Recent Reads tomorrow, March 3rd.
Just spent most of today editing it and went to do the final pass of editing and *poof*! Half of my clips were just gone. No where in the software, though the spaces where they fit were still there. I use Filmora and I did have this issue pop up and happen to a few videos in an update a few months ago, so I don't know if it's back or what happened. I suppose it's time to make the move to DaVinci Resolve.
Sorry for not having a Friday video, but I'm too damn mad to redo all that work again. I'll just lump it all together for next week.

Well, this is what happens when you decide things on a whim...disappointment. I was coming in here to set up for my plan with me livestream in the morning and because of how my desk/camera/whatnot is set up and because I refuse to purchase a Pro Streamyard subscription to add more than one camera and stream in good quality, I won't be able to livestream. I'll just film it, edit it and drop it on the channel Tuesday morning.
Sorry fam.

You know how I do the weekly wrap up every Friday where I mini review the things I've finished reading, mention brief thoughts on what I'm currently reading and then show what I'll read next?
I've been thinking about changing the format a bit and I'd love your feedback.
I'd be knocking off the Friday video and instead sort of do it in a rolling method. What I mean is, (and this would likely actually start next Friday if you all like it) I'd pop on and do a review of whatever book I finished - keep it mini like I do in my existing wrap up (and nonspoiler), then end with saying what book I'll move on to next...then the next video would be about the next book. I'd also likely get rid of the TBR video since I'd be going from video to video in this new format.
I will still sprinkle in other types of videos: tags, bulk recommendations like when I did the Haunting Halloween Recommendations, Serial Killer September and those types. (I also finally filmed the Pango Books one!)
