Europe Must Reconsider Macron's Idea of Sending EU Troops 🇪🇺 to Ukraine 🇺🇦, Says Lithuanian FM 🇱🇹

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis stated that it's time for European countries to reconsider French President Emmanuel Macron's proposal for deploying EU troops in Ukraine.

He emphasized that the idea is becoming relevant as thousands of North Korean soldiers may soon join Russian forces in the war.

"If information about Russia’s killing squads being equipped with North Korean ammunition and military personnel is confirmed, we have to get back to ‘boots on the ground’ and other ideas proposed by Macron," Landsbergis stated.

Ukraine 🇺🇦 Now Set to Produce 4 Million Drones Annually, After Incredible Two-Year Growth

Ukraine’s drone industry has skyrocketed from producing up to 5,000 drones to over a million annually in just two years, shifting its focus to quality and cutting-edge technology. Ukraine now boasts over 200 drone manufacturers, with about a hundred capable of producing large quantities of various drone types, not just FPV (first-person view) drones.

A major bottleneck has been Ukraine’s heavy reliance on components from China and other countries. However, over the past two years, Ukrainian companies have learned to manufacture some components domestically, thus localizing production. This shift is vital from a logistical perspective – previously, lengthy delivery times caused delays in assembly. With production now based in Ukraine, this issue has been significantly alleviated.

Having mastered mass production, Ukrainian companies have now turned to enhancing drone technology. The war is a two-sided battle, and as Ukrainians build drones, the Russians develop countermeasures, such as electronic warfare (EW) systems. This makes technological advancements even more important.

Estonia 🇪🇪 Is Holding Civil Defense Exercises in Response to a Potential Russian Threat and Plan to Test Blade Buoys on Border With Russia

The Estonian Rescue Department, responsible for civil defense, and the Estonian Defense League organized civil defense exercises in Abja-Paluoja. Local authorities prepared in just 10 days to evacuate residents based on intelligence of a potential attack, with over 200 participants involved.

"It’s no secret where we live. We are not alone in the Baltic region," said Lieutenant Colonel Raul Kütt, commander of Kaitseliit's southern unit. "The same applies to Latvia and Lithuania. We don’t know how the war in Ukraine will end or if it might spread further. We still have time to conduct such exercises to prepare for the worst-case scenario."

Also, the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) is preparing to install a chain of blade buoys on the water border with Russia, the agency's Deputy Director General Veiko Kommusaar told the Estonian National Broadcasting Company (ERR).

According to Kommusaar, this is one of two options that the PPA is going to test as part of a pilot project. He noted that of the 338 kilometers of border Estonia shares with Russia, just 135 kilometers of it are on land.

US 🇺🇸 may lift veto on Ukraine's NATO invitation if Harris wins election – Le Monde

The administration of US President Joe Biden reportedly has no significant objections to inviting Kyiv to join NATO and, should Kamala Harris win the election on 5 November, may begin to take steps in that direction.

"If Kamala Harris is elected, it is quite possible that Biden could move in this direction during the transition period [before the inauguration of the new president – ed.]. If it's Trump, this argument no longer applies, and the slightest initiative by Biden risks making the situation worse," a European diplomatic source said.

The most optimistic sources believe that a change in the United States' stance could also lead to a change in the course of intransigent Germany.
