Kodály Institute Kecskemét

Established in 1973, the Kodály Institute has become the international centre for the most authentic promotion of the music education concept developed by Zoltán Kodály and implemented in Hungary, his home country. Home to advanced studies in Kodály-based music education and music teacher training in English, the Institute has had a profound influence on several generations of music educators from all over the world. Up to now thousands of students have participated in the Institute’s full-time (undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate), part-time or summer courses so far.
It is our duty to train music educators in the spirit of Kodály, who believed that dedicated, well-trained and accomplished music educators serve as missionaries for the preservation of the aesthetic and humanistic values expressed in musical art. The transmission of these values to future generations and to our children is our ultimate task.
