For those who may not be familiar with Elizabeth Cotten, she was an American folk and blues musician who is considered one of the pioneers of fingerpicking guitar style. She was also a self-taught musician, learning to play the guitar upside down and backwards due to the fact that she couldn't afford a left-handed instrument.

But despite all of these challenges, Elizabeth Cotten became a hugely influential and respected musician in the folk and blues scene. Her music is timeless and her performances are truly captivating.
