I'm an illustrator, but I don't pretend to be the best there is. In each video I will find something in my art process that I struggle with and show you how I managed to overcome it. Sometimes it is with great online resources, sometimes it's trying something I've never tried before.

So I became a dad two weeks ago. I now live in a city but i will soon move to a coastal city in Uruguay near the beach. I've been thinking about how much I will enjoy the waves with my daughter when she grows up, and I’d really like her to be the kind of girl that gets back up when she gets knocked down. The water in punta del este is pretty heavy, so this will happen a lot!
Thinking about that I made a very little girl that looks like my wife having fun with the waves. I love using sequential images in illustration and comics, some artists like frank quietly are really good at this, so i wanted to give it a shot.
I'd like to do more stuff like this, telling a small sequential story in an image. Have you ever been tumbled around by a wave?

This kids should just follow the map! I was practicing tree trunks and I started wondering how graphic I could get until they could be tree trunks or…. Something else! The more I think about doing comics the more I feel like playing with narrative aspects that can lead to small moments like this one. What is your favourite fictional spider?
