World Diabetes Day: Simple Tips for Prevention
As a longevity educator, I want to share a few key practices. Remember, prevention is better than cure.
Self care is not selfish it is essential
India is the diabetes capital, heart disease capital, and oral cancer capital.
Here’s what we can do to lower these risks:
1. Avoid drinking and smoking 🚭
2. Eat a Satvic diet; avoid non-veg food 🥦
3. Add ghee to your diet (in moderation) 🧈
4. Cut down sugar by 90% 🍬
5. Eat whole fruits, avoid fruit juices 🍎
6. Walk 30–60 minutes daily (aim for 10,000 steps) 🚶♂️
7. Get a blood test every quarter 🩸
8. Delete food delivery apps like Zomato, Swiggy, BlinkIt, and Zepto 📱
9. Say no to celebrity-endorsed drinks; drink natural options like coconut water 🥥
10. Exercise at least 5 days a week 🏋️♀️
11. Sleep 7 hours each night 😴
12. Add more protein to your diet 🍗
13. Drink 3 liters of water daily 💧
