Free Range Living

Welcome to Free Range Living! We are Troy and Pascale a couple of sailors, farmers and adventurers currently setting up a 9-acre homestead in the South West of Australia. We upload new episodes on our farming, gardening and homesteading experiences for you here on a weekly basis. We will also share with you what we've learnt from local sustainable farmers and producers in the area as we strive to live with the land.

In addition, you can find more than 200 episodes of our 5 year adventure sailing around Australia in our tiny 1969 30' sailboat. Thanks so much for dropping by and, if you like what you see, don't forget to subscribe, like and comment. We'd love to hear from you in whatever corner of the World you find yourself in.

Free Range Living

Thank you to everyone who expressed a desire to see a boat build grace our little shed in the comments to last weekends video. The plans have been ordered and I hope to get the ball rolling ASAP. With the temperature just getting up, I'm very glad that I'm not dealing with epoxy just yet...
Thanks again,
Troy

Bad news folks. 😞 No video today as my computer screen is broken so I'm currently unable to edit and upload videos. Looking into a work around and hoping I can get it fixed quickly when we get back to civilisation. As always, thanks for your support and understanding. Hopefully your weekly fix will return by next week! Cheers Pascale

Free Range Living

No video this week gang as internet for uploading videos is quite limited here in remote Western Australia. The good news is that we should be able to resume weekly episodes again from next week. As always, if you'd like early access to episodes, in addition to keeping Free Range Sailing independently funded, it is available to you on our Patreon page. www.patreon.com/freerangesailing

Many of you have been asking when the Gourmet Sailor cookbook is coming out! I have been very busy writing the book and recipe testing. Currently I am about halfway through my first draft. The book is not solely a recipe book and covers many topics including how we equip and provision our galley, as well as, how we cure, sprout, forage, ferment and preserve food on board.

As this cookbook is turning into quite a significant body of work, I can't really give a good estimation of when it will be finalised and available for purchase. So, in the meantime, and prompted by the current situation we find ourselves in worldwide, I've put together a FREE Free Range Sailing Guide to Provisioning.

The Guide explains and provides examples of how we can travel eating a variety of healthy and delicious meals for up to 6 months at a time on our tiny boat with no resupply.

There has never been a better time to start learning how to increase the food storage potential of your home. I hope this guide will inspire you to make more informed long term provisioning choices for the future!

Also if you want to find out more about what I am cooking up every week for us aboard Mirrool you should follow my foodie Instagram page! www.instagram.com/gourmetsailor

I look forward to receiving your reviews and feedback.

Stay well and look after one another.

Pascale

PS - Apologies if you have already read this message on other socials but I realise that not everyone uses Instagram or Facebook so I thought I'd publish this message here too!
