🔥🎸 Hey everyone! I’ve been busy with TRYPTAMAX for the past few months, and I wanted to share some exciting updates with you!
I’m writing an entire album, which will be titled ‘DARK MATTERS’. It’s in the writing/recording stage and should be out in a few months. I had initially intended to record and release track by track for this project, as singles, like we did with “The Empty” (already available on all platforms), but inspiration struck hard this year and we decided to go straight for the full-length album with 7-8 tracks of the finest prog/rock/metal craziness we all love!
This will be the official debut of TRYPTAMAX. My friend, the AMAZING singer Will Shaw @WillShawofficial , is onboard with me 100%! We can’t wait to get this out into the world and share the music with all of you (hopefully also LIVE soon)!
The future is musical! For now, enjoy the intro to “A Night at Sea”.. there is a special backstory to this song, I’ve had it demoed since 2017 (for a possible release with Bad Salad at the time) and it contains seeds for a future concept album that I have been cooking since 2013.. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves..

My John Petrucci / Dream Theater guitar solos course/platform got an upgrade! Now the UNISONS (guitar + key) expansion are included with the solos on the main course by default. There are 25 solos and 11 unisons for now. More to come! Check out the website for the full list of solos, unisons and features. Enjoy!

A few musicians have reached out to me already since my last post, to volunteer for the upcoming round of SPLIT-SCREEN COVERS (VRA!), but I want to discover more amazing musicians!
Let me know if you are interested (PLEASE post your best DT video here), and/or if you know someone who would fit the bill, please feel free to suggest or tag the person here! I can't promise a collab for everyone, obviously, but I'll definitely check out everyone who posts a link! This should be needless to say, but a LINK to your video is required, I will not be hunting down prospects who don't post their work (1 is enough, your BEST. 2 at most).

This year, I'm getting back to doing some Split-Screen Covers (Dream Theater) with VRA! A project I started with friends back in 2009 that became a worldwide collab and very special among the DT community. The goal was to cover 1 song from each of DT's studio albums. We are lagging behind, and DT keeps making great new music faster than what I could handle, but I want to close the gap in 2024..
I have a few ideas of what songs I want to cover next, but I would love to see your suggestions. These are the albums we've yet to cover in Split-Screen format:
- When Dream and Day Unite - Falling Into Infinity - 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence - Octavarium - Black Clouds and Silver Linings - A View from the Top of the World - (the new album with Mike Portnoy)
Also, I'll be checking out some new musicians for a few of these to change it up a bit with some new guests.

It's been a long time coming, and I'm so excited to finally share this music with you and unveil this new chapter of my life. 🎸👇
As I previously mentioned, this is my most sincere artistic outlet to date. Many of my longtime passions had to come together to morph into what is now becoming TRYPTAMAX — Composition, recording/programing of guitars, bass, drums, keys, lyrics and melodies, mixing, video production/editing, artwork, logo, and most importantly the concept, esthetics and direction of the whole project. Did I mention I like the creative process?
Anyway.. I'm not a complete creative control freak just yet. Almost, but not quite. 😅
I am joined by the AMAZING vocalist and my dear North-American friend, Will Shaw, in bringing this dream into reality!
Ever since collabing back in 2009 for that EPIC Metropolis Part 1 (Dream Theater) Split-Screen Cover, we've been flerting with the idea of doing something cool together in the future. Many of you have also asked for it over the years. That time has arrived! 💫
It's not a solo project, Will is on board and will bless us all with his amazing talents! 🎤 For this video, I also invited another longtime friend and musical partner to be a badass on Drums, Paulinho, which he kindly accepted and totally owned. 🥁
The stars have definitely aligned for this, and I hope you enjoy this first release and stick around for the ride with us. There's lots more where this came from. 🤘

This year, I'm getting back to doing some Split-Screen Covers (Dream Theater) with VRA!
