Dubbed the "Master of Darkness" (BFI), Lang's cinematic contributions, from METROPOLIS to M, remain some of the most indispensable and influential works of the 20th century.
After more than two decades of exile in Hollywood, Lang triumphantly returned to his native Germany to direct his lavish diptych THE INDIAN EPIC, a "sweeping adventure filled with tigers, snakes, romance." (The New York Times)
