What a SPECTACULAR weekend of speaking, which ended with meeting Steven Bartlett  ‪@TheDiaryOfACEO‬   😊

Thank you, Steven, for graciously making time to meet us and learn more about our work. You're an incredible human being of our generation and a huge inspiration ❤️❤️

Although we were blessed to speak on 5 stages in the last 2 days at 'The UK Black Business Show and Week' and the 'Clean and Tidy Home Show' we spent a lot of time learning and taking notes 📝


🔶️ LEARNINGS 🔶️

The first 4 are from Steven:

1. Everything is about sales. Hire the best people.

2. The law of averages is at play. Don't give up on your first try. Send many emails asking

3. Be good at knowing when to quit. There is power in it

4. You owe it to yourself and the people who raised you to tell people about the value you bring. Self promotion is important

5. Be mission led and think in 10 year cycles - Andy Davis

6. 90% of fundraising is storytelling. Entrepreneurs need to leverage this - Andy Davis

7. Getting constructive feedback is good. It also reduces unconscious biases - Christina Trotter

8. For your career, work on nurturing your internal and external eco-systems. Have a visibility strategy. Find a mentor and sponsor - Erica Nyoni.

9. Getting to the top isn't just about performance. That's 10%. The rest is about how you're perceived or seen. - Leonora D.

10. Be clear on what you want for your career. No one will make it happen for you

12. "That's how God works" - Shauna Roper. We met unexpectedly and within 2 minutes she said, "that's how God works". We both understood we were meant to have met

We're super excited and petrified to share that we're on the latest series of Rich Holiday Poor Holiday on Channel 5 and eventually on Netflix 😀😍

The idea of the show is that two families exchange holidays to see if money really does buy happiness.

The family that is used to nice holidays go to a low-cost location with low-cost experiences, while the other family gets a taste of a luxurious holiday.

We did it to see if we could still live a financially joyful life and remain happily married with little money 😅.

Given our love for travel 🌎, this was tough!

Join us in celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary ❤️❤️

Since the very moment we met in 2009, every single year has been blessings upon blessings 😊.

We thank God for our beautiful union, and long may it always be filled with fun, love, laughter, adventure, and joy ✨️✨️

13 years happily married and 15 years together ain't easy!!

Doing life together, running a business together, parenting together, etc.

We've overcome a lot together and still learning 😅

Best of all, we're growing older together as best friends and more in love.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude thinking back to where we started.

We thank our friends and family who continue to support us and our children in immeasurable ways.

May our love continue to grow always with decades of celebrations ahead ❤️❤️. Amen 🙏🏾🙏🏾
