to put it simply, he’s my absolute everything. ten years of love, growth, and everything in between with my favorite person. we’ve celebrated the sweetest wins and held each other up through the hard seasons. he knows me better than I know myself whether I like it or not (and let’s be honest, sometimes I don’t lollll).
there’s a line in the song that says “you know me like the first tattoo on your arm”. we actually got out first tattoos together and i got a little baby cross on my wrist and my crazy husband came out with a half SLEEVE. he’s a tough cookie fo sho.

beneath the roots: cry rooted track #2 written with Cameron Bedell and Jared Scott
we really wanted to write something that felt nostalgic and fresh at the same time. we started singing that first line of the chorus “Cry cry cry” and then we started incorporating some of the melodies from Justin Timberlake and Timbaland’s “Cry Me A River”. Timbaland was really the soundtrack to my childhood. his imprint on songs like “Are You That Somebody” with Aaliyah and “Ice Box” with Omarian is so evident so it was fun to give a nod to that and blend it with my country sound.
