Hey there! My name is Stan Prokopenko, I’m an artist and teacher. Proko is a resource for artists to get good art instruction videos.
When you watch Proko tutorials you’ll notice that I try to make them entertaining while keeping them educational. I feel that if you’re having fun and enjoying the learning process, you learn better. You retain more information, you pay more attention, you’re much more likely to continue learning and more likely to go back and re-watch tutorials. And it will leave you more inspired and motivated to go practice.

Drawing bad lines? Here are some tips for better line quality!
1️⃣ Ghost your lines! Practice your line a few times with your pencil hovering just above your paper before making a mark. This gives you tapered ends and a smooth line with energy!
2️⃣ Follow through. Pulling your hand TOWARDS your goal and drawing through it makes energetic lines, recording the energy pf your movement in that line. Combining this with ghosting helps even more.
3️⃣ Avoid scratchy and searching lines. While those line types aren't "bad" and can be useful. It's just about switching between lines you use for idea-dumping with sketches and sleek lines for final pieces. Give your art the look of confidence!
4️⃣ Construct with simple lines. C, S, and I-shaped line segments can be combined to make more complex lines. No more slowly drawing a detailed line in one shaky, inaccurate mess.
