Η PROTASIS ιδρύθηκε το 1994 φιλοδοξώντας να φέρει ένα νέο ρεύμα στη δισκογραφία, τόσο από πλευράς ρεπερτορίου, (ποιοτικές συλλογές, καταγραφή παραδοσιακών τραγουδιών κ.λ.π) όσο και από πλευράς καλλιτεχνών, στηρίζοντας κυρίως νέους δημιουργούς και ερμηνευτές.
Protasis Music was founded in 1994 as an independent Greek record company. Protasis music is very well known as a record company which is specialized in world music production in Greece, producing rebetiko, traditional - ethno Greek music , Jazz, and very carefully selected popular Greek music.
In 2014 Protasis Music Publishing was founded as the sister publishing company, representing the copyright of 60.000 Greek music titles.
