Hey everyone! I had hoped to have an update video ready for this morning about the year ahead, but that'll have to wait 'til the weekend after a couple things happened. For now, a more condense message reflecting on things before I talk about what's coming next in that video.
Long and short of it, 2024 was a bit of a chaotic year and the last few months wound up rough enough that I had surgery around my tailbone on Friday. I'm recovering well and taking the proper healing procedures, but after a year of traveling, work, delays ranging from waiting on certain props to a now-former animator pushing his work onto the rest of the crew, and pushing through two years of burnout without properly resting while piling on more onto my plate, leaving my dying multi-channel network of almost ten years..... I think it's safe to say January will be need to be a bit of a hibernation period beyond maybe a compilation or two. It'd already been something I'd been planning with the way things went this Autumn, but YouTube slicing ad rev in half at the start of the month (thanks to a few bigger videos turning SLIGHTLY less views of all things) and now this surgery have more or less pushed me to actually take it.
Even recording that update video led to me stretching a throat muscle by mistake through making too deep a comedic snore. The Fella Upstairs has it out for me lol
That being said, I'd like to thank EVERYONE from the amazing crew who made this year possible when my energy was at its lowest to you guys who've tuned in and shared our videos, episodes, and shorts! We may not have done as much as we planned this year, but what we did finish (from the fantastic Crotoonia episodes and minisodes to the all-new Ready to Play Adventures series to the incredibly fun PrimeTime guest-host events and livestreams) has set things in motion for a healthier, more exciting 2025....especially as we've got Crotoonia's proper tenth anniversary ahead!
There's a lot to do next year from figuring out sturdier fundraising in the face of MFK and unstable algorithms to laying down what we'll be doing beyond what's in production right now, but I need time to recharge and properly plan it all out. I don't want this to be another year to be hyped with delayed projects and struggling to get things done 'cause I was too stubborn to accept help. :p
With all that being said, I wish you all the happiest of New Years and hope you've had the happiest of holidays! I'll see you guys in 2025!
