Don’t fall victim to feeling the pressure to fit in.
I’ve learned to be okay with looking different as an entrepreneur. It doesn’t discredit how much impact we have made and will make.
I love working in corporate events.
I love working with my vendors.
I love that it feels like a fresh new beginning. I can honestly say that there’s a new excitement happening.

I genuinely love to connect with other event industry business owners. It’s my thing.
I remember how it felt in 2010 when I started my business.
I remember how I felt in 2015 when I wanted to quit my business.
I remember how I felt in 2020 when I thought I lost my business.
As an event planner, we will go through seasons where everything is great. As well as seasons when doubt can creep in.
It’s a normal feeling considering most businesses do not make it to 3 years in operation. If I can do anything to help a business grow and scale, I am here to help.

Today, I had two networking events that I attended. I can forget how intimidating it can feel to go to events alone.
It’s almost second nature to me. However I used to be scared.
The only way to gain comfort in the uncomfortable is taking the first step. I had the opportunity to connect with some amazing people.
Now I have to sort through the cards and do follow up connections.
Ps. The biggest mistake people make at networking events is trying to fit it all in the first instance. Schedule a coffee and connect outside of the session. Less distractions is the goal.

What’s freedom for me?
The ability to spend time with family or be there for the ones I love. Today, I had the opportunity to bring my aunt to Louisiana for her 60th high school reunion.
I realized this is something that fuels my heart to do this entrepreneurial journey.
It’s not the bags. It’s not the money.
It’s the ability to take care of my mom until she passed away. The ability to visit my sister abroad. The ability to drive my aunt to something important to her.
I’ve been searching for my motivation. I think this is it.
