I made a video on the new 'expansion module' for the Goggle X recently that provided analogue module and HT support. Be aware that the latest version of the goggles don't need that module for head tracking, as they have the upgraded stuff built in. How do you know if you have the version with it built in? It is on the box (shown in the image). I hope this helps those of you who asked... Happy flying!

I was asked today what the 4K bitrates were on the new RunCam Thumb 2 camera was. Here is the answer for both 60fps and 30fps with the quality set to the highest level... Happy Flying!

For those asking in todays video if the power connector is the same as the previous cameras, here is my 5v cable I made for the original Thumb plugged into the new RunCam Thumb 2. Works great!

A huge thank you to all who answered the question on what type of FPV you are using!

Despite recent price drops for things like HD Goggles, price continues to be one of the main issues stopping many from making the move to HD systems.

So, it set me wondering again. What is the spilt between DJI HD FPV, Walksnail, and HDZero for those flying HD?

For the last two years, I've been asking what type of FPV you were using at this point in the year.

Last year it showed that the number of analogue only pilots had dropped from 60% to 48% of those who responded.
Now, after another year of and the settling down of the various digital HD FPV offerings, it will be interesting to see how the split has changed...

So, what FPV type are you flying now?

Following on from my video today about my build with the 3-axis GM3 gimbal from Walksnail I wondered if others shared my opinion that they should have also released a simple PAN only gimbal and a PAN/TILT gimbal as the GM1 and GM2 if these are gimbals are aimed at head tracking as they stated on the website - "Based on pilots feedback and implement head tracking function of goggles"....

I've just got this stuff in here. Flywoo are now making an alternative to traditional cans of conformal coating that we use in the hobby to protect exposed PCBs. Has anyone tried it? flywoo.net/products/flywoo-x30-waterproof-superhyd…

Still working on updating the HAO HAN Firefly. There have been updates to the ground-station, camera firmware and control surface setup that have changed since the model was shipped to reviewers. This means that some have released flight and camera 'review' videos without these essential updates.

As a content creator, there is always pressure to get out content first. But I'd much rather wait until the final hardware also has the final, tweaked setup and firmware as shared by the manufacturer for these review units before I make a video. Otherwise, what's the point? You're not showing what customers would actually get, you're just showing an incomplete 'test unit' that isn't final.

Stay tuned for my full flight and performance review (with the latest code)!

After many years of loyal service, my latest tube of the fab UHU POR finally ran out on my latest plane build. A moments silence, if you will, for a loyal friend and reliable partner on may builds and repairs over many months. Time to open a brand new tube!

Tip of the Day: Get yourself a few prop wrenches and pop them in the radio and goggle bag. It can be super annoying when you get to the field and find you need to swap a prop, then find that the tool you need is in the other bag! (Don't ask me how I know!)
