You are Worthy. Your value, isn't determined by your body, your talent, or what others think of you. You are valuable because the Creator of the Universe and everything in it, says you are His workmanship, His artwork, His masterpiece. (Ephesians 2:10, Gen 1:31, Psalm 139:14-18) and He gave the very life of His Son, in order to be close to you, to have fellowship with you.(2 Corinthians 5:18-21, 1 John 1:3)
I believe creativity is a powerful way of having that closeness with our Creator. When we combine the Word of God with drawing, painting and creating we are imitating our Father as beloved children (Ephesians 5:1).
I'm Melissa, the artist behind Pink Paper Peppermints. I hope to encourage and inspire you, not only in Bible Journaling, Faith Art and all things mixed-media art journaling, but also in connecting with the One who created you. I pray that everything I do here will remind you that you are deeply loved, a treasure, and a "pearl of great price" to the One true God. β₯

Something to Meditate on this Sunday
Whenever you feel "not enough", or those thoughts of being somehow defective or incomplete start looping in your mind, I want you to remember that those who accept Christ as their Savior have been made *complete* in Him.
"and you are complete in Him, who is the Head of all principality and power." (Col 2:10)
You are chosen, loved and precious to the Lord. When those thoughts attack you, speak the Word back to them and the Light will scatter the darkness.
"For it is You who light my lamp; the Lord my God lightens my darkness." (Ps 18:28)
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Ps 119:105)
"We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be His own people." (1Thessalonians 1:4)
How precious do you think Jesus is to His Father God? Well His Father gave Him as a sacrifice for *you*.
"He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?" (Romans 8:32)
"knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ." (1 Peter 1:18-19)
So how precious do you think you are to God? Meditate on that today. πππ

This candy dish was one of my favorite finds at an estate sale. My grandmother had one just like it and she used to keep butter mints in it. They were always so soft and buttery and delicious. I loved the way they would just melt on my tongue. That dish was the second thing I went for after we arrived for a visit (the first was a big bear hug from my grandpa of course).
I looked up a recipe for butter mints one time and they are actually made of butter and sugar and peppermint oil. No wonder they were so delicious. I still haven't tried to make them yet, but I would really like to someday so that I can keep them in this dish for when *my* grandkids come to visit! (Hopefully they'll go for a gram hug first, ha!)
Do you have a favorite childhood candy? Did your grandmother have a candy dish? I'd love to hear the story! π΅π»π¬π
