Diné artist Def-i continues to carve out an original niche from introspective and poetic Hip Hop.
Hailing from Albuquerque, NM and emerging from the underground indie rap circuit, Def-i’s eclectic repertoire has provided him with much success and opportunity; MC, Producer, Artist-Educator – Def-i has been featured on Sway in the Morning, NPR, BBC, Democracy Now!, RT plus a plethora of worldwide outlets. His performance styles range wide from Hip Hop and spoken word to contemporary Indigenous acoustic.
Rounding out this diverse musical powerhouse, Def-i is an experienced youth workshop provider, active community member and currently serves as a U.S. Hip Hop Cultural Ambassador. For the past decade he has worked with educational entities from all levels, teaching creative writing, song recording, the art of beat making and the fundamentals of Hip Hop culture.
