We got some BAD NEWS for you. We filmed a whole series of reactions to George Carlin's 1st HBO Stand Up special called "Live from USC" (1977), but YouTube's copyright rules are blocking us from even showing any of it.
This never happened to us before, even when we were doing our reactions to Star Wars and Marvel shows. We're sorry that due to this unforeseen development that is out of our control, we won't be able to keep up with our 3X per week video schedule. We had 2 weeks worth of videos filmed that has to be tossed now.
Also, with some family vacations planned, we decided to take a 2 week break.
When we get back, we will be starting a new series on GALLAGHER!
If you're a fan of GALLAGHER, please help us decide which of his Stand Up Specials we should start with.
John Pinette is our FAVORITE COMEDIAN. And we just found a bunch clips of his early shows from when he was just getting started.
We're going to do a series of reactions of "The Lost Tapes of John Pinette."
Part 1 drops Monday, April 1, 2024 at 7:00 AM (Pacific Time - Los Angeles).
Seriously, this is not an April Fools joke. I'm editing the video right now. And I just wanted to upload a quick teaser trailer to let our fellow "Pinette-Heads" know.
From the people who brought you the DEAD COMICS CLUB, comes "BACK IN THE DAY FILMS!"
(What do you think of our logo?)
Layne and Thien are going to be branching out and will be doing reactions to old movies from their youth.
We're making a list of movies we want to react to. This is where we need your input.
What movies should we react to?
Here's some of our ideas:
80s John Hughes / Coming of Age / Molly Ringwald / John Cusack SERIES: - Sixteen Candles - Breakfast Club - Pretty in Pink - Better Off Dead - The Sure Thing - Say Anything
80s - 90s Action Flicks - Terminator 1 & 2 - Predator - Die Hard - Lethal Weapon
80s-90s Comedies - Groundhogs Day - Stripes - Caddyshack - Naked Gun movies
80s-90s Kung Fu Movies - Jackie Chan flicks - Bruce Lee flicks - Shaolin movies - Karate Kid 1-2
Give us some suggestions of movies and / or categories.
And don't worry, the Dead Comics Club is still active. We'll continue doing reactions to stand-up comedy. We just wanted an excuse to re-watch some of our old favorites (and see how cringe-worthy they have become).
After completing the JOHN PINETTE TRILOGY, we were thinking about what to do next.
One of the most rewarding things has been the thousands of people who have thanked us for introducing them to the amazing comedy of the great Mr. John Pinette. That made use feel so happy that we could spread the joy of John's work.
So we thought, "Maybe we should introduce people to some more great comics of the past!"
To help introduce a new generation to some of the comic greats who are no longer with us, we decided to form a special club called....
THE DEAD COMICS CLUB!!!!
You're invited to the first official meeting of the DEAD COMICS CLUB, on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 8 AM (Pacific). The first comic great of the past we will be reacting to is the amazing LOUIE ANDERSON!!!
We're going to be reacting to his very first comedy special filmed live at the Guthrie Theater in 1987 in his hometown of Minneapolis. The comedy special is called, "MOM! LOUIE IS LOOKING AT ME AGAIN!"
We've filmed several episodes already. And you guys are in for a real treat. Louie surprised us. His humor and energy is totally different from John Pinette's. But Louie had us laughing as hard as John did. This will be fun!!!
What is your TOP 5 favorite John Pinette comedy bits?
HELP US DECIDE! We're finishing up our first time reaction series of all 3 of JOHN PINETTE's comedy specials this week. We wanted to end with a TOP 5 video. Submit your TOP 5 Favorites in order (plus 2 honorable mentions, if you want). We will tally up the points and make a video out of it. We need your answers by SUNDAY morning, Jan 14th (we're filming this on Sunday afternoon).
Hey John Pinette fans! We got a new reaction video coming out today. This is our first time watching and reacting to "STILL HUNGRY" filmed in 2011. (This is part 1 of 7)
