The mission of Funbox Karaoke is to provide karaoke B-side deep cuts that have never been publicly made available on YouTube. I prioritize forgotten gems from under-recognized bands, as well as more obscure tracks from established bands.
I am not accepting partnership offers at this time. I am also not currently accepting video commissions or new song requests, as I am now catching up with fulfilling literal years of unfulfilled requests from back when I did accept them.

As I am currently snowed in at my house in New Orleans (wtf?), I won't be able to work for a few days. So... I decided to (very) temporarily re-open karaoke video commissions this week only to make up for it. $40 a pop. Also, since this is all I'll be able to do for work in the next few days, I'll make you three videos for $100, but as is the policy on this channel, it will need to be for three different bands!
I will produce an unlisted video for you (or CD+G if you prefer) that will be exclusive to you until I publicly release the video on YouTube in late February or so. It'll be publicly released after I finish my 1990s series. This offer expires on Friday.
funboxkaraokecommissions@gmail.com - link me to what you want on YouTube or Spotify to guide me exactly to the version of the song you want to commission!

After about a decade of doing this, not much is new to me anymore. But today there was something. Some friendly dudes celebrating their bachelor party in New Orleans wanted to include their friend who missed his flight. They just had him FaceTiming in front of one of the microphones, fully knowing that acoustically it wouldn't work (they didn't care), while the rest of them joined him on a song on the other microphone. Really weird shit, but also super heartwarming!

Hey guys, the girlfriend and I had a lot of THC and we're into unused band names. Tell us some good ideas for band names that don't yet exist! My current favorite is "Wholesome Grifters" while hers (reminder that we're high) is "Tentacled Butthole Demons".

There's a substantial thing that I've learned through living my life or whatever. Making your day to day decisions through the lens of serving others is a slightly more difficult way to live for sure, but honestly, it's truly the only way to live that's ultimately pleasant when you look back and reflect on the interactions you had as a result of you being a genuinely kind person to others.
What makes kindness a fun activity is that it results in pleasant people wanting to be around you instead of away from you due to them having a history of being treated well by you. That is especially the case when you primarily and voluntarily shine the spotlight on other people instead of vainly telling everyone about your life's bullshit the instant you get a chance to do so. Prioritizing others results in greater camaraderie with a larger group of people, and, from an actual selfish point of view, it incentivizes people to want to do things for you on their own volition at a later date WAY more often.
From a game theory point of view on living your life and shit, if you're not a kind person, then you are definitively a fucking idiot. In the short-term it's easier to be a selfish ass, but in the long-term, you're genuinely fucking up by being a jerk. Your life ultimately becomes more difficult when nobody likes you. Why would you want everyone to not like you due to something that you can actually control? That's stupid ignorant shit. Don't do that. Fix it.
For real, the instant I detect genuine narcissism when I'm talking to you, you've just turned yourself into a negative magnet sending me into the next room. Is that how magnets work? I dunno. I might need to consult the Insane Clown Posse about that. But for real, genuine kindness without any ulterior motive is a superpower, and people don't take advantage of it nearly enough.
EDIT: I just want to clarify that being a kind person, versus being a people-pleaser, or a "nice guy", or a fuckboy, or a simp or some shit... they are not at all the same thing! They're actually the complete opposite. Ask ChatGPT to tell you the difference if you need help, I guess.

I will never possibly understand the logic when this happens at a live karaoke show when I'm hosting:
Me: "Second call for whoever, you're up for karaoke!"
Idiot: "what song is it? Let me do it"
No, what the fuck. I called them, not you. Fuck off
The regularity of tactless selfish drunks making this dumbass demand is shocking.

To those of you who ever find yourselves anywhere near Louisiana, I started hosting shows in New Orleans. You should consider stopping by!
While I still offer franchised Funbox Karaoke shows in Baton Rouge (The Station - Tues/Thurs/Fri/Sat), if you want to see me personally, there are two shows you can visit!
On Wednesday nights, I host a ridiculous graveyard shift / service industry karaoke show at the 130-year-old / 24-hour bar Le Bon Temps Roulé on New Orleans' famous Magazine Street. It starts at 10pm and goes until 5, 6am! If you want to hang out with locals rather than other tourists, you'll love it. The place is like a New Orleans time capsule.
On Friday nights, my girlfriend Christina hosts a French Quarter show at Cosimo's. It's the baby of the two at only 90 years old. It's two blocks away from Bourbon Street, but far away enough from the loud bullshit that it's somehow actually in a pretty quiet neighborhood. It's filled with locals and some of the coolest people you'll ever met. The karaoke area feels like you're hanging out with friends in a living room. I'm always there! It's an early show - 8 to 11:30pm. Join us to start your weekend! By the way, for nightlife after the show, skip Bourbon. Go to Frenchmen St instead for live music and quality bars - it'll make for a more memorable vacation!
We offer the largest collection of offline karaoke tracks on the planet. It results in karaoke nights where people almost exclusively choose bangers to sing. Here's proof: www.karaokenerds.com/Libraries/
I'm merging libraries with @RAFMOddballKaraoke, so it'll get even larger soon. Yay
Also if any of you are ever in town and want me to host a private karaoke party for you, lemme know!

It is clearly obvious that the average YouTube user craves authenticity from the YouTube channels they watch. For that reason, here's season 67 of me over-sharing my future plans so that I can force myself to get them done. I've added a key to explain why these are the next 226 videos on my list (which, following past trends of me not knowing how to stick to plans, will probably balloon to 300 videos due to my inability to avoid adding more songs to my shit). Expect this entire list to take at least until autumn 2025 to be finished. Perhaps in 2026 I'll consider taking new requests.
Here are (roughly) the next videos on my channel. I expect this to be VERY close to what you should expect to see next on my channel, with very little wiggle room for me to change my mind.
------
Here's the key:
A - video in my 1990s series that is already on YouTube, but sounds like shit and needs a remaster, which is what this will be
B - song in my 1990s series, new song
C - I already made this unlisted video - and you can watch it right now before anyone else - but I didn't want to interrupt my 6-month-long 1990s series. It'll be publicly released in Q1 2025 after I finish. You can find that video here right now: www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
D - This is a song that my analytics told me that I need to remaster sooner than all of the other shit
E - This is a song that had a worldwide copyright block for over a year (or perhaps three) and is available on YouTube right now, but deserves a re-release because nobody knows that it exists, as its original release never happened
F - This is a song that won a contest from over a year ago. I should have made this video 9 months ago
G - I don't feel like explaining it, but this is a video that I personally feel needs to be released sooner than the next series, which is:
[find songs after #156 in the comments section]
H - The rest of the 1980s and earlier shit that I want to release that doesn't exist yet. This will be my only series of music from before 1990 that I release in 2025
I - 1980s and earlier shit that exists, but needs a remaster because the quality sucks

Which artists did you listen to the most this year? If you want to copy/paste your Spotify Wrapped from a week ago (yay I'm on time with this trend), you can go right ahead. Or you can also type a lovely comment listing your top stuff so that we can interact with it. Alternatively, if you're one of the remaining fossils who still scrobble to last.fm, what's topping that shit for you these days? Does that website actually still work?
To those of you who don't scrobble or track, I'll ask a different question. I don't want to know what you thought was cool the other day, or what your favorite songs of all time are, but rather I want to know what you can't stop listening to right this damn second!

I know that the biggest thing that I whine about is my unmanageable to-do list, but guys... I have a feeling that by like June or so, if I've told you "yeah, I'll do that", then I'm probably gonna actually fulfill doing that. And if you're still a victim of my blue-balling from that contest a year ago with 40 winners, February is my personal deadline to accommodate you.
You saw that latest drop of metal tracks? Those were primarily recommendations made by the man who got me into the business of hosting public karaoke shows, Mohawk Mike of the band The Axes of Evil. When I asked him, "what mandatory metal shit is missing from my library?" as we shared a dim sum meal around fucking February 2023, he gave me a list of great stuff. (I love taking recommendations from people who convince me that they know what they're talking about.) I didn't yet produce any of the '90s bands from his recommendations list, so I just did. His 2000s recommendations are coming in early 2025.
My next drop of videos is going to have a song with something about Canada in its title. This is a video that I promised my friend Angell I'd make her in fucking May 2021! And it's not done yet! (In my defense, the vocal separation AI tech only JUST reached a high enough quality for her karaoke video to not sound like fucking shit if I made it.) So it makes me super excited to see a horizon where I'm not stalling anymore on giving people what they want anymore, that's so exciting yay
But I'll never achieve my goals because you guys are getting better at hitting me in the feels with compliments, making me more compelled to impulsively give you what you want when I officially no longer accept requests, fuck
EDIT: it hits me in the feels harder when the rare person pays me money, though. More info here: youtube.com/post/UgkxRmPHMPf3q6nn7YvjQ4Y2z15PVVgq9…
EDIT 2: I will announce this one time only. I'm drinking. If you're one of the 8 people who have a video not made yet from that community contest, AND, when your video is finally released, you respond to the video's comments calling me out on lying to you about getting your video made "soon", I will reward you with the promise to produce ONE MORE video of you choice for free. And before summer 2025, too! Do not inquire about your free request song unless you requested one of the following songs that I promised fucking many months ago and didn't yet (I know who you are), thanks:
Cypress Hill - Get it Anyway
The Interrupters - She Got Arrested
Millencolin - Bring Me Home
Hot Action Cop - Don't Want Her to Stay
Kazzer - Pedal to the Metal
KSU - Awaria Obrazu
Rabbit Junk - February War
Jay-Z and Linkin Park - Izzo / In the End
Also hey Dr. Zaius guy, you're next. You want the long version of the song, right? Tell me which one.

Final call! If you're interested in (ever) commissioning a karaoke video from me, this will probably be your last chance!
One last time, here's the guidelines, if you're interested:
- Please, only one song per band if you want to commission multiple songs. I prefer to cover each band no more than once every 3 months on this channel, and this includes videos I recently released. I'll work with you if you don't mind me delaying your next video's public release by a month or two, though.
- I will prioritize getting your video made within 10 days. You will receive an unlisted video link (and CD+G if you desire) of your video immediately upon completion. However, the video's public release won't be until January, or February at the very latest. It'll be an exclusive video to you until then.
- As a special treat - if you want it - if this video is a gift for someone, I can upload a custom version that includes a reference to the recipient in the video splash screen for free.
- My price per video will be $40 for easier tracks (think simple indie, punk, metal songs with relatively simple synchronization and minimal background vocals) and $50 for everything else. If you want multiple videos, I'll throw in a discount for you.
If interested, you can email me at funboxkaraokecommissions@gmail.com or contact me on the community discord: discord.gg/divebar
And the payment stuff. Choose one!
