I launched memberships for ‪@Trainviking‬ here on YouTube.

As a member you'll get early access for pretty much all video's (at least one week in advance) and if the number of channel members will be growing, I'll create some special members only content in the future.

At this moment there's only one level for channel members, hopefully this can grow in the near future if there will be more members.

Trainviking

Next week a new "open access" service will be launched in The Netherlands. It's is only once a week a intercity at night from Maastricht, in the South via Eindhoven, ''s-Hertogenbosch, Utrecht and Amsterdam to Schiphol.

The time frame of this train doesn't fit me at all, basically I won't catch a lot of sleep. However I'd like to make a video about it as well.

I can't make up my mind so I'm asking you on YouTube. Would you like to see a video on this new service (I'll try to upload the video asap)

Tomorrow and last January I travelled on the TGV Lille - Paris. Even though, I'll probably take that train more often soon anyway (because it's a good and financially more interesting connection than the Thalys), I probably make a trip-report out of this. However, how would you like to see that video? From Paris (station review of Paris Nord) or from Lille (station review Lille Flandres), I already covered both of them btw.

GOOD NEWS!

Because of travel restrictions last year, I just want to make sure I do have enough content to publish for at least one year if I'm uploading videos every 2 weeks. However, I do have content for more than one year now, so I'll start publishing weekly video's again.

Tomorrow I'll start with the oldest video I have on stock, that won't be on a train but a bus instead, along a Dutch intercity route (spoiler alert, the train is the absolute winner to me). It's a simple video but more content will be there soon.

(Ps: remember the poll on YouTube with the question if you'd like to see a trip report on a bus last summer? You voted with an overwhelming majority for yes, so that video will be online tomorrow).

Remember I did a trip report on the route from Chaudfantaine to Spa in June 2021, published on the 2nd of June? (You cab check the video here https://youtu.be/seXk0qkXdrs). I promissed to donate 50% of the advertisement revenue I earn over the first 3 months to the Ocean cleanup and I made a deal for a giveaway. However this video performed so extremely bad on YouTube that I'm actually embarrassed to even contact the company for the giveaway. Only a bit more over 1K views after 6 months.

However,  instead of domating 50% of the earnings over the first 3 months after publication, I will more or less 200% of what I've earned over the first 6 months. This isn't that much either, but at least it's a bit better. I earned in total € 3,12 until now, so I will donate € 6,- to the ocean cleanup (right now).

Being monetized on YouTube isn't something that makes a lot of money, but it's a nice extra motivation of course. However the earnings are in general really low and what I do earn will be directly invested in the channel again (as a matter of fact, it costs me money, but I don't mind because I really enjoy making these video's).
