I grew up on LP. They were my introduction to metal. Their music shaped me. And after seven very looong years, Linkin Park is making a comeback. When I heard LP was maybe making a comeback ages ago, I was nervous, anxious. I knew no one could possibly fill Chester's shoes. I didn't think it could possibly work.
It's been a little over a day now and I think I can actually put thoughts into words. I am no longer concerned. I think Emily is the perfect choice. She has Chester's sound while bringing them in a new direction. And I couldn't be happier, both as a fan and for them. Seeing Mike smile like he did during the concert brought tears to my eyes and I"ve been in my feelings ever since. She's breathing new life into them. And I'm so excited for the new future of LP!
And she's not filling Chester's shoes. His shoes are being carried by us, as a new pair walks alongside. He's still with us 😭
