Last-Minute Album Filler To Biggest Hit Song!!
It was a last-minute song put together because they had to put one more song on the album. It sounded like NOTHING they had ever done - and it became their biggest hit! In 1972, the British group The Hollies made a splash in the US with "Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress)", which made it to #2 on the charts in the US - but what is even more interesting than the song, is how it came to be. Lead vocalist Allan Clarke wanted to take a risk and write a song based on the storytelling songs of the US, while combining the Southern rock sounds of Sun Records and CCR. The risk paid off for the band, but rocked the relationship between Clarke and the other band members - he was fired.

1999’s Perfect Summer Song!!
What do you get when you combine a 3-day rave, an adult film star stuck in Jamaica, and the perfect disco loop? You get the magical 1999 hit sunshine pop song "Steal My Sunshine" which hit #1 in Canada and #9 in the US. A song “so summer” that just listening to it gave you a tan!! It was the one-hit wonder (on purpose) from the brother and sister act Marc and Sharon Constanzo, and a bunch of other friends, formerly known as Len. What made this song a hit?
